RBPF: Flying Squad in Grand Bahama uncovers dangerous drugs and illegal firearm - Mar 22, 2019 - 4:30:52 PM

Reports are that on Friday 22nd March 2019, shortly after 2:00pm, officers of the Flying Squad in Grand Bahama, acting on information, proceeded to Grays Avenue, Seagrape, Eight Mile Rock, where they uncovered in bushes, (5) plastic bags containing 12 lbs. of suspected marijuana, with a street value of $12,000.00 and a silver and black pistol containing (4) hollowed tip .380 ammunition.

There were no arrest made in this matter, investigation is continuing...

The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited wishes to advise the public that as Regulators, we were notified by The Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) that during a course of their recent meter audit, they discovered a number of suspected electricity diversions at several businesses within the Port Area.  As a result, we immediately began our own independent investigations into this matter which is currently ongoing.  Thus far, we can confirm that all of the work performed by the licensee was unpermitted, and was executed outside the scope of the license.

As this matter is currently with the Royal Bahamas Police Force and investigations are still ongoing, we do not wish to comment any further to interfere with the Police investigations.  We do believe that due process will be carried out and we are...

Reports are that on Saturday 2nd March 2019 shortly before 10:00pm, two males one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife, entered a business establishment on Don McKay Boulevard, Marsh Harbor, Abaco, where they robbed the cashier of cash and two male customers of cash and personnel items before fleeing on foot.

A short time later and as a result of diligent police investigation, two males ages 24/25 years old both from Coopers Town, Abaco, were arrested and are assisting police with this investigation...
