The Royal Bahamas Police Force is asking the public for help in finding 35 - year old Anwar Strachan who is wanted for questioning reference to a seizure of a handgun and a quantity of dangerous drugs found at his home located on Rosewood Street, Pinewood Gardens on Wednesday 19th July 2017.

Strachan is considered to be armed and dangerous. Police advise the public not to approach him. Instead, contact police immediately with any information...

Disciplinary action commenced against 2 Police officers in social media video - Jul 23, 2017 - 9:55:35 PM

Police wishes to notify members of the public that disciplinary action has commenced against two police officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force shown in a controversial video that recently went viral on social media.

At 11:00am this morning (Sunday 23rd July 2017), Commissioner Ellison Greenslade suspended both officers from duty and restricted their privileges.

Both officers were given fourteen (14) days show cause letters. This allows due process and natural justice.

Police in Grand Bahama need your assistance in locating the following persons who are wanted by the Central Detective Unit for various offences.

The first suspect is 36 year old Javon Rajah Williams of #7 Victoria Lane, Freeport, Grand Bahama. He is wanted for Grievous Harm and Housebreaking. He stands at 5’8” in height, weighs 150 lbs., average built with medium brown complexion.

The second suspect is 24 year old Joshua Oliver of #427 Grenade Avenue, Freeport, Grand Bahama. He is wanted for Grievous Harm and stands at 5’7” in height, weighs 130 lbs. with dark brown complexion and average built.

The third suspect is Paul Simon Rolle Jr. age 31 years of #3 Emerald Drive, Freeport, Grand Bahama. He is wanted for Grievous Harm and stands at 6’1” and weighs 180 lbs. with dark brown complexion and average built.

According to reports, shortly before 4:00pm, two females and a male had just left a fast food eatery near the Oak’s Field roundabout, when two men armed with handguns approached their vehicle and fired several shots before fleeing on foot...

Police in Abaco are investigating a shooting incident that has left a male hospitalized.

Reports are that on Friday 21st July 2017, shortly after 10:00pm, a male was reportedly leaving his place of employment on Don McKay Drive, Marsh Harbor and while entering his vehicle, he was accosted by an assailant brandishing a handgun, who attempted to rob him and shot him to the upper body...

Police in Grand Bahama are also investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred on Friday 21st July 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 10:00pm, a male reported that while in the area of the International Bazaar, he was held up and robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male who robbed him of his cell phone and personal items before making good his escape on foot...

3 Grand Bahamians taken into Police custody for firearm & ammunition possession - Jul 20, 2017 - 9:42:38 AM

Reports are that shortly after 2:00pm on Wednesday 19th July 2017, Drug Enforcement Officers while in the Lewis Yard area, had reason to searched a vehicle and discovered inside a black Ruger 9mm firearm with (10) rounds of ammunition. Two male occupants in that vehicle were arrested and taken into police custody.
Further investigations led Drug Enforcement Officers to a home in the Prospero Drive area where they uncovered an AK47 rifle with (5) 7.62 rounds of ammunition. A female of that resident was arrested and taken into police custody.

All persons are expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court this week.
Police are appealing to the public to share information on any illegal/suspicious activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may

A full military funeral service will be held for the late 166 Wilfred Anthony Winters on Friday 21st July 2017 at 11:00am at the St Pauls Methodist Church, East Sunrise Highway and Beachway Drive, Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Officiating will be Rev. Ken Lewis and Dr. Emmit Weir, assisted by Fr. Stephen Davies, Force Chaplin and other members of the Clergy.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rest View Memorial Mortuary & Crematorium Limited, Coral Road. The public viewing is on Thursday 20th July 2017.

Mr. Wilfred Winters joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force on August 14th 1978, where he was recruited in New Providence.

The greater part of his career in the Royal Bahamas Police Force was spent in Grand

Nassau Shooting victim dies in hospital, island-wide manhunt launched - Jul 17, 2017 - 2:34:48 PM

Police have launch an island-wide manhunt for a suspect responsible for an overnight shooting death of a man that occurred on Sunday 16th July 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, a man was walking on third street, coconut grove, off Robinson road, when a male approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to hospital where he was detained in serious condition.

The victim died in hospital early this morning. (Monday 17th July 2017) investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to the public to share information on any illegal/suspicious

RBPF Nassau: Two Handguns seized, Two Men in Custody - Jul 17, 2017 - 2:07:33 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, police took two men into custody following the seizure of two handguns on Sunday 16th July 2017.

According to reports, around 12:30pm, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol on Sapodilla Boulevard, Pinewood Gardens, when they saw two suspicious males driving in a champagne colored vehicle. The officers signaled to the vehicle to stop. However the vehicle drove off. The officers gave chase and vehicle came to a stop in front of a home on Jacaranda Street, where the driver exited and threw an object to the ground before fleeing on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the driver. However the male passenger was arrested without incident. Selective Enforcement Team officers then came to the assistance of the officers. The object was retrieved and found to be a .45 Pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition...

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Drug Enforcement Unit officers took a 24 – year old Corrections Officer from the Bahamas Department of Corrections into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs at his residence on Friday 14th July 2017.

 According to reports, around 1:00pm, officers assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at the home of the Corrections Officer located at Caravel Road, Sunset Park and found just over two ounces of marijuana. The officer who occupies the home was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged...

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a male hospitalized in serious condition.

Reports are that on Tuesday 11th July 2017 shortly before 8:00pm, a male while at a residence in the area of Frobisher Drive, was stabbed multiple times to the body with a knife by another male. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via private vehicle where he was seen by doctor and is listed in serious condition...

RBPF Nassau: Drug possession arrest - 205 drivers ticketed, 9 arrests - Jul 12, 2017 - 9:14:42 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, police conducted an island-wide operation in New Providence on Tuesday 11th July 2017.

The operation targeted wanted persons and drivers who were in breach of the rules of the road.

A total of 205 drivers were ticketed for various violations and three (9) persons were arrested for Outstanding Court Warrants, Housebreaking and Possession of Dangerous Drugs...
