Nassau, Bahamas - Police are asking the public to come forth with information that may help in solving a shooting death that occurred on Thursday 1st December 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 9:00pm, an adult male was standing in front of a home located at Toote Shop Corner, when two males in a dark coloured vehicle armed with handguns approached and shot him before speeding off. The male was pronounced dead on the scene...

Nassau, Bahamas - An adult male is detained in hospital after he was shot by police, who caught him red handed breaking into a home on Thursday 1st December 2016.
 
Reports are that shortly after 12:00noon, police received a report of a house breaking in progress at a home located at West Avenue, Centerville. When responding officers arrived on the scene they met the home alarm system activated and a window forced open. The officers entered the home, and were confronted by a male suspect armed with a knife. The officers in fear of their lives shot the suspect...

Suspect who fired at police shot dead in Nassau - Dec 1, 2016 - 1:53:11 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - Her Majesty’s Coroner is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire with police on Wednesday 30th  November 2016.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00pm, police were conducting a major operation in search of a man wanted murder and armed robbery in Nassau Village, when they encountered a group of males behind a home on Peach Street off Spruce Street. The males on seeing the police fled on foot. Police gave chase and were fired upon by two of the males armed with handguns. Police returned fire and fatally shot one of the males who was pronounced dead on the scene...

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male on Wednesday 30th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 4:00pm, officers were called to the Beach Way Drive area where a male who was reportedly working on a power line was found in an unconscious state. The male was attended to by a doctor of the Rand Memorial Hospital on scene and transported by EMS. He was later pronounced dead...

Major drug bust off Sweetings Cay - Nov 30, 2016 - 1:59:04 AM

Drug Enforcement Unit Officers and U.S Counterparts made significant drug seizure and arrest.

Reports are that on Tuesday 29th November 2016 shortly before 12:00pm, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with U.S counterparts were on air patrol in the Sweetings Cay area, when they intercepted a boat with four males and four large packages of suspected drugs. One male suspect was arrested and the others made good their escape. The drugs was confiscated and discovered to be 170 kilos of suspected cocaine with a street value of over four million dollars.

The first suspect is 32 year old Roberto Kenneth Lightbourne (seen left in photo), otherwise called Kendrick Lightbourne of Cox Close, New Providence, who is wanted for Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Firearms Trafficking.

Nassau, Bahamas - Her Majesty’s Coroner is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire with police on Friday 25th November 2016.

Preliminary reports are that around 10:00am, police received a report that a male stole a licensed shotgun from a convenience store located on Zion Boulevard. Responding officers while making a check of the area saw a man fitting the description armed with a shotgun in his hand. The suspect on seeing the officers fired several shots at them and ran off...

Body found after house fire in North Eleuthera - Nov 24, 2016 - 5:50:35 PM

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body burned beyond recognition found in a house following fire on Thursday 24th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00am, Police in Eleuthera received a report of a building fire in Current, North Eleuthera. When responding officers arrived on the scene they met a two storey home engulf in flames. Despite the courageous efforts by the police and community volunteers the fire destroyed three adjacent homes. When the fire was extinguished, the officers while conducting a search of one of the homes found the body of a human being burnt beyond recognition. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cost of death.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Patrick Pyfrom Jr. age 28 years of Yorkshire Drive, Jaran McIntosh age 30 years of SeaGrape, Eight Mile Rock, Steven Smith age 23 years of SeaGrape, Eight Mile Rock and Tavares Moss age 29 years of Bartlette Hill, Eight Mile Rock, were all arraigned on Monday 21st November 2016, before Magistrate Constance Delancey in Magistrate Court #10 in New Providence on Possession of Dangerous Drugs with the Intent to Supply charge. Steven Smith pleaded guilty and was sentenced to (3) three years at The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. The others pleaded not guilty and the matter was adjourned to the 16th February 2017...

In the first incident, shortly after 8:00pm, police received a report that a male was shot at Sumner Street off Soldier Road. When police arrived on the scene, they found the body of a male in his early teens lying in front of a home who, had been shot. The male was pronounced dead on the scene.

Nassau, Bahamas - Wanted suspect Adriano Knowles of Chapel Court off Bernard Road, Fox Hill turned himself in to Detectives at the Central Detective Unit on Saturday 19th November 2016.

Knowles is wanted for questioning reference to a number of recent murders.

Nassau, Bahamas - An adult male is in custody assisting police in connection with a shooting incident that has left a man dead on Friday 18th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00pm, a man was walking in the area of Nichol’s Court, Yellow Elder Gardens, when a lone gunman emerged from a black Honda vehicle and shot him before speeding off. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, Selective Enforcement Unit officers seized a large amount of dangerous drugs while conducting an operation on Friday 18th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 4:00pm, during special operations carried out by the Selective Enforcement Team in Cox Street, Fox Hill, ten (10) pounds of marijuana was seized. An adult male is being sought in connection with this discovery.
