RBPF Nassau: 4 Armed Robberies, Police Seek Public's Help - Oct 1, 2014 - 2:16:50 PM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving several armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday 30th September 2014.

In the first incident, shortly after 7:30am, a woman was walking on Stanford drive, when a man armed with a handgun robbed her of her handbag containing cash and personal effects. The man then fled on foot.

In the second incident, shortly after 8:00am, a man armed with a handgun robbed a convenient store located at Pine Barron Road of cash before fleeing on foot...

ABACO, Bahamas - Police in Abaco are investigating the remains of what is suspected to be human.

Reports are that on Tuesday 30th September 2014, police received information that suspected human remains were found in a bushy area east of Wilson City, Abaco.

Officers responded and the remains collected. A pathologist report is expected in this matter.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - On Tuesday 30th September 2014 sometime around 7:30am, police received information about a structural fire at a school located in the Grasmere Subdivision area. Officers of the Fire Department responded and reported upon arrival observed fire and smoke damages that were confined to several rooms to the school. The reported estimated loss/or damages are $80,000.00 (eighty thousand dollars).

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, police are actively investigating this matter...

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving two stabbings and a shooting incident that has left three males detained in hospital on Monday 29th September 2014.
 
In the first incident, shortly after 1:00pm, a man was walking on St. Vincent Road, when a man known to him stabbed to the back and fled on foot. The victim was transported to hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.

Nassau , Bahamas - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving an armed robbery and a sexual assault that occurred on Sunday 28th September 2014.
 
In the first incident, shortly before 5:00pm, a man had just arrived at his Marigold Farm home, when a man armed with a handgun approached him and robbed him of his house keys. Two other men joined the gunman and took the victim into his home, where they robbed him of his cell phone, a flat screen television and his ATM card. The suspects then sped off in the victim’s silver Toyota van...

Nassau, Bahamas- Police Identify victim in alleged electrocution: POLICE has identified the young boy who was alleged to have been electrocuted last week at Orange Hill as 8 – year old Kaden Brown of Coral Harbour.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of nine (9) persons overnight for various minor and major offences.

Police is pleased to report that 21 year old Norlando Pratt of Waterford, South Eleuthera who was reported missing by family members on Friday 26th September 2014, has been found safe and well.
Pratt was found by officers from the Northeastern Division over the weekend and is now safe with relatives.

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving a stabbing and a shooting incident that has left two men detained in hospital on Sunday 28th September 2014.

In the first incident, shortly after 2:00pm, a man was at Shrimp Road off Carmichael Road, when two men riding a moped shot him to the thigh with a handgun and sped off. The victim was transported to hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.
In the second incident, shortly after 4:00pm, a man was at Dean’s Lane, when he got into an altercation with a man known to him and was stabbed to the chest area. The victim was transported to hospital, where his condition is listed as critical.

Nassau, Bahamas - Four males arrested by Drug Enforcement Unit during the half million dollar drug bust last week will appear in court at 11:00am this morning to be formally charged.

Drug Enforcement Officers arrested the men following the seizure of 570 pounds of marijuana in an area east of the Coral Harbour Round about on Tuesday 23rd September 2014.

EIGHT MILE ROCK: Police are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a 16 year old male in hospital.

Reports are that on Friday 26th September 2014 shortly before 2:00pm police received information that two males were involved in a physical altercation while in the Bartlett Hill, Eight Mile Rock area that left one of the males with stab wound to the abdomen. EMS were called to the scene. The other a 17 year old male was taken into police custody.

According to reports, around 10:00pm, the deceased along with two other men and a female was sitting outside a local business establishment located at Grace Terrace off Bernard Road, when someone fired several shots at them hitting the deceased to the head, the female to the thigh, one of the males to the leg and the other male to the stomach...

ANDROS, Bahamas - Police in Andros are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 51 year old man of Grants, Mangrove Cay, Andros who apparently drowned while on a fishing trip on Saturday 27th September 2014.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 4:00pm, the victim was on a fishing trip with his two sons in waters just east of Mangrove Cay, Andros, when one of his sons fell over board. The victim attempted to rescue his son and apparently drowned during the process. The victim was taken ashore and pronounced dead by the island’s local doctor.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are reporting that five persons were arrested and a handgun along with several vehicles suspected to be stolen were seized during an overnight operation.

The operation targeted persons wanted for a number of serious crimes and persons involved in the sale of drugs and possession of firearms.

One of the suspects is being held for murder and the others for suspected stolen vehicles and drug possession.
