Nassau, Bahamas - Armed robbery and shooting: In the first incident shortly after 10:00pm on Sunday 26th April 2015, a woman was driving her Nissan Primera vehicle on Prince Charles Drive, when a man in a Cherokee jeep armed with a handgun pulled up on the side of her and ordered her out her vehicle. The suspect then abandon the jeep he was driving and sped off in the woman’s vehicle...

Raid on Nightclub nets five arrested for Drug Possession: Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, police are reporting the arrest of four men and a woman for drug possession following a raid on a nightclub on Sunday 26th April 2015...

Seize high-powered assault rifle: According to reports, shortly before 2:00am on Monday 27th April 2015, officers from the Flying Squad acting on intelligence went to house under construction located at Great Britain Street, Flamingo Gardens, where they uncovered a high-powered assault rifle.

Nassau, Bahamas - Firearm seized, 22 arrested: POLICE are reporting the seizure of one illegal firearm, the arrest of 12 Jamaican females and 10 other persons for various criminal offences such as murder and dangerous drugs, during their crime suppression operation conducted by the Flying Squad last night. ..

15 arrested in two separate operations:
POLICE are also reporting the arrest of 15 persons in separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Friday 24th April 2015. ..

Police seized drugs in Exuma in abandoned house - Apr 27, 2015 - 2:23:36 AM

Exuma, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly before 4:00pm on Friday 24th April 2015, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit along with officers from the K-9 Unit, acting on intelligence went to the rear of an abandoned house located at Bahama Sound, Exuma, where they uncovered 10 pounds of marijuana. No one was taken into custody for this find.

Nassau police search for 3 shooting suspects - Burgundy Honda Inspire taken during robbery - Apr 26, 2015 - 12:09:08 PM


Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspects in three separate shooting incidents that has left four men detained in hospital on Saturday 25th April 2015.

In the first incident, shortly after 10:00am, a man was sitting in his Honda vehicle with a female friend at the junction of Alexandria Boulevard and Taylor Street, Nassau Village, when two males armed with handguns fired several shots at them before fleeing on foot. The man received several gunshot wounds to the upper body and was transported to hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Bahamas Tourism Policing Unit make drug arrest - 6 other arrests in 24 hours - Apr 26, 2015 - 9:13:09 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - Man arrested by Tourism Policing Unit officers  for drug possession.

According to reports around 12:00noon on Saturday 25th April 2015, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit, were on foot patrol on Charlotte Street near Woods Rodgers Wharf, when they observed a 56 – year old man acting suspiciously. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a small quantity of marijuana and cocaine in his possession. The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged...

Stabbing incident in Bimini - Apr 25, 2015 - 1:47:20 PM

Bimini, The Bahamas - On Saturday 25th April 2015, shortly after 2:00am, police received information that a male and female both of Porgy Bay, Bimini, were involved in an altercation, when the female reportedly stabbed the male with a knife to the upper chest area. The male was taken to the Bimini Clinic and seen by doctor who listed his injuries as serious. He is schedule to be airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention.

The 36 year old female was later taken into police custody. Investigations are continuing.

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a business establishment on the East Mall Drive, Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Reports are that on Friday 24th April 2015, shortly before 10:00pm, Officers received information that five men who were all described as wearing dark clothing, mask covering their faces and all armed with a firearm, held up and robbed the patrons of the establishment of cash, jewelry and cell phones, before making good their escape in an unknown direction.

Abaco traffic fatality involving bicycle - Apr 25, 2015 - 10:43:42 AM

Abaco, Bahamas - Police in Abaco are investigating a traffic fatality that has left a 49 year old male resident of the Pigeon Peas, Abaco dead.

Reports are that on Friday 24th April, 2015 shortly after 9:00pm, police received information that a male travelling north on his bicycle on Don McKay Boulevard was struck by an unknown vehicle also travelling north but did not stop. EMS personnel were called to the scene and the victim was transported to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was later pronounced dead by doctor.

Nassau: Shooting on Carib Rd - Woman robbed on Pentecostal Way - Union Village shooting victim identified - Apr 24, 2015 - 11:21:13 AM

(Nassau, Bahamas) According to reports, shortly before 8:00am, on Thursday 23rd April 2015, two men were standing in front of a home located at Carib Road off Mackey Street, when they got into an argument with two other men armed with handguns. The gunmen shot one of them to the ankle and the other to the thigh before fleeing on foot. The victims were taken to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

The Grand Bahama Road Safety Committee talked to Bartlett Hill Primary School students on Tuesday 21st April 2015, during their morning assembly. In attendance was GB Road Traffic Deputy Controller Basil V Rahming, John R Fraser co-chairman, Cpl 1324 Mik Sears GB Traffic Police Division and the committee's mascot Cpl 007 Road Rick.

Following the welcome by principal Gia Walker and assistant principal Mrs Green, the students were told that the committee truly believes the old African proverb that says " It takes a village to raise a child," and that the committee is a part of that village, concerned particularly with their safety when using the streets...

Nassau, Bahamas - Police arrested three adult females for stealing on Wednesday 22nd April 2015, in connection with a surveillance video that was recently posted to social media.

Reports are that on 8th April 2015, video surveillance caught the three women in the act as they stole a number of items from a beauty supply store located on Carmichael Road. The matter was reported to the police, who commenced an investigation that led to the arrest of the three females by officers from the Flying Squad.

Nassau, Bahamas - A 24 year old man of Bacardi Road is in custody after he was arrested shortly after an attempted armed robbery on Monday 20th April 2015.


According to reports, shortly after 8:00am, a woman was about to enter her vehicle in front of her home located on Spikenard Road, when a man armed with a handgun attempted to rob her of her handbag. Nassau man shot dead while repairing a vehicle on Ida Street, another man in hospital - Apr 21, 2015 - 12:20:01 AM

Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that has left one man dead and another detained in hospital on Monday 20th April 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm, a man was repairing a vehicle on Ida Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached him and shot him several times before fleeing on foot. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Another man who was standing nearby was shot in the arm and was taken to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.Investigations are ongoing.
