Police seek public help in shooting incident
- Police are seeking the public assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Saturday 23rd May 2015

Police issue Whit Monday holiday warning to motorists - Police are appealing to all road users to exercise extreme caution and extra care when driving during the Whit Monday Holiday.

Police message to drivers and riders is very simple.

Nassau police search for suspects in 4 armed robberies - Seek suspect in shooting incident - May 23, 2015 - 11:53:26 AM


Nassau, Bahamas - Police are searching for several suspects responsible for four of armed that occurred during the past 24-hours and are asking members of the public to come forth with any information they may have to help solve these incidents.

In the first incident, shortly after 12:00noon on Friday 22nd May 2015, a man armed with a handgun robbed a convenience store located on East Street and Victoria Boulevard of a small quantity of clothing before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly after 3:00pm on Friday 22nd May 2015, a woman was walking on Rosetta Street, when a man armed with a handgun robbed her of her handbag containing cash and personal effects before fleeing on foot...

2 stabbing incidents in Grand Bahama - May 23, 2015 - 11:41:53 AM


Freeport, The Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama are investigating two stabbing incidents that has left a 23 year old male and a 33 year old male in hospital.

The first incident occurred shortly before 12:00pm on Friday 22nd May 2015, two brothers while in the area of Frobisher Circle were involved in an altercation when one was stabbed to the face. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital and was seen by doctor and later released. His 32 year old brother was arrested and taken into police custody.

The second incident occurred shortly before 10:00pm on Friday 22nd May 2015, a 33 year old male was brought into the Rand Memorial Hospital suffering from stab wounds...

Illegal immigrants arrested off Bimini - May 23, 2015 - 7:44:53 AM

BIMINI, The Bahamas - On Friday 22nd May 2015 shortly after 3:00pm, Officers of the U.S Coast Guard handed over to Law Enforcement Officers inclusive of Police and Immigration Officials, (5) illegal Haitian Immigrants, (3) adult males and (2) adult females and (4) Grand Bahamians. They reported that while on routine patrol on Thursday 21st May 2015, they had intercepted a 17 ft. vessel in the North West area of Bimini with the illegal immigrants on board. They were all taken into custody.

Investigation is continuing.

Exuma police launch island-wide search for suspect - May 23, 2015 - 6:57:31 AM

EXUMA, The Bahamas - Police in Exuma report that shortly after 4:00am on Saturday 23rd May 2015, they received a report of a disturbance at a nightclub located in Barratarre, Exuma. When police arrived on the scene they saw a man walking with a handgun in his hand.

The officers attempted to arrest the suspect who resisted violently. A struggle ensued and the suspect dropped the firearm, but was able to escape from the officers. Police retrieved a .357 handgun the suspect threw to the ground.

Nassau man shot dead on Bias Street, police seek public's help - May 22, 2015 - 10:12:11 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that ha left a man dead on Thursday 21st May 2015.

According to reports, shortly before 11:00pm, a man was walking on Bias Street off Baillou Hill Road, when a man armed with a firearm approached him and shot him multiple times about the body before fleeing on foot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.

Man taken into custody at LPIA for trafficking in persons - May 17, 2015 - 1:39:04 PM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are reporting that a 37 year old Bahamian man of Poets Drive, Sea Beach Estates is in custody for questioning reference to Trafficking in Persons.

Officers from the Missing and Exploited Persons Section of the Central Detective Unit took the man into custody at LPIA on Saturday 16th May 2015.

The man is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.

Officers from the Flying Squad took the woman into custody by on Friday 15th May 2015.The woman is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged...

Nassau: Armed suspect dead after shooting at police, 2 other shooters in custody - May 16, 2015 - 11:08:28 AM

Nassau, Bahamas  - Quick action by police has resulted in the arrest of two suspects who opened fired at them and the fatal shooting of another suspect who also opened fire on police; also in the recovery of an A-K 47 Assault Rifle and a Glock Pistol on Saturday 16th May 2015.


According to reports, around 3:30am, this morning, police received a report of gunshots being heard in the Fort Fincastle and Mason’s Addition area. A team of officers including officers from the police saturation patrols responded. Upon arrival in the area, four male suspects armed with firearms confronted the officers and opened fire on them.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are asking members of the public’s to come forth with any information they may have regarding a man found dead on Thursday 14th May 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 5:30am, police received a report of a man found dead in the road located at Faith Avenue South and St. Vincent Road. When police arrived on the scene they met the lifeless body of a male lying in the road with injuries to the head. The male was pronounced dead at the scene.Investigations are ongoing...

American visitor dies in Grand Bahama after diving trip - May 13, 2015 - 2:57:25 PM

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the death of a 49 year old American visitor.

Reports are that on Saturday 9th May 2015, shortly before 5:00pm, police received information that a group of visitors from Florida were diving off Memory Rock, when one of the male reportedly began experiencing difficulty breathing. He was reportedly pulled from the water on to the vessel from which they were diving where CPR was administered. He was transported to West End where he was rendered medical attention by doctor from the West End Clinic. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by doctor.

He was not allowed to enter a plea, a preliminary inquiry into the matter will be heard on Monday 27th July 2015. He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence until trial...

BIMINI, The Bahamas - A 34 year old male American visitor is in police custody after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that on Monday 11th May 2015 shortly after 9:00am, Officers of the Bimini Division while at the South Bimini International Airport, conducted a search of the American visitor and discovered in a camouflage bag, a black and silver 9mm Beretta pistol with one clip containing (17) live 9mm hallow tip ammunition. He was arrested and taken into police custody...

Nassau, Bahamas - Police has launch an island-wide search for the suspects responsible for three shooting incidents that has left a man dead and three others detained in hospital on Friday 8th May 2015.


In the first incident, shortly after 10:00pm, a man was sitting on a bench playing a game of dominoes with a group of men on Matthew Street, Nassau Village, when the occupants of a red Kia jeep drove pass and fired several shots into the group hitting the man in the left chest. The man was pronounced dead on scene....

Exuma, Bahamas  - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, officers from the Exuma District conducted a police operation on that island on Thursday 7th May 2015 that targeted persons suspected of being in possession of dangerous drugs.

The operation resulted in two persons being arrested for possession of dangerous drugs.

The first arrest occurred shortly after 10:30am, when the operation team acting on intelligence went to Moss Town, where they arrested a 25 - year old man after they found him in possession of a plastic jar containing 34 foils wraps of marijuana...
