POLICE ISSUE WARNING TO PERSONS WHO HARBOUR WANTED PERSONS

POLICE in Andros, Bahamas are requesting the public’s help in locating three men wanted for a Causing Harm incident that occurred at Lowe Sound, Andros on Sunday 20th April 2014.  

The first suspect is 22 – year old Troy Miller of Lowe Sound Andros.

Miller is a dark brown male, weighing 170 pounds, slim build and about 5’ 10” in height.

The second suspect is 47 – year old James Marcus Brown of Lowe Sound Andros and Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Island-wide Manhunt Intensified

Police in Exuma, Bahamas have intensified their island-wide manhunt for 33 – year old Denardo Smith aka ‘Fat Boy’ of Hartswell and Williams Town, Exuma.

Smith is wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday 22nd April 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00am, a man was about to enter his vehicle following and altercation with the suspect in the George Town area when the suspect armed with a handgun allegedly shot him in the abdomen and fled on foot.

Police Seek Public's Assistance in Solving an Armed Robbery
- According to reports, around 5:00pm, on Monday 21st April 2014  a man armed with a handgun robbed a Beauty Supply Store located on Market Street and Palmetto Avenue of cash and fled on a bicycle. 

Police Investigate Shooting in Montel Heights, 1 Suspect in Custody - A 22 year old man is in custody assisting police with investigations into a shooting incident that has left three men detained in hospital on Monday 21st April 2014. 

3 Firearms Seized Over Easter Holiday Weekend - In the first incident, around 10:30am, Police in Exuma acting on intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned truck in Clapboard Alley, where they found a handgun.

259 Drivers Cited During Easter Weekend Operation - Consistent with the Commissioner Policing Plan 2014, Officers from the Police Traffic Department conducted an aggressive operation code named “Operation Easter Blitz”; and 243 Drivers Cited by Mobile Division During Easter Monday Operation...

8 suspects to be arraigned in Nassau today for serious offences - Apr 22, 2014 - 8:52:44 AM

Nassau, Bahamas  -  Eight (8) suspects are expected to appear in court today (Tuesday 22nd April 2014) at 10:00am to be formally charged for a number of serious offences.

All of the suspects were charge by Detectives from the Central Detective Unit. The suspects are:

1. A 27 – year old man of Union Village for the Attempted Murder of Eric Louis;  2. A 22 – year old man of Rock Crusher Road for Possession of Firearm with Intent to Supply and Ammunition;

3. A 30 – year old man of Resurrection Road for Possession of Firearm with Intent to Supply and Ammunition;

Operation "Easter Blitz" held in Grand Bahama - Apr 21, 2014 - 11:04:12 PM

Freeport, Bahamas - Between Thursday 17th April 2014 and Monday 21st April 2014 between the hours of8:20am and 10:30am, the Traffic Division began Operation Easter Blitz with road checks on the East Mall Drive, East Sunrise Highway and Seahorse Road, Lucaya area. A total of (58) FPN notices were issued for various traffic infractions.

The Royal Bahamas Police Traffic Division would like to encourage the motoring public while out on the streets of Grand Bahama to drive with care and attention, to wear your seat belts, refrain from texting and driving and if you are riding a motorcycle please ensure that you wear a protective helmet.

132 Illegal Immigrants Apprehended in Ragged Island, Bahamas - Apr 21, 2014 - 12:16:06 PM

According to reports, shortly after 5:00pm on Sunday 20th April 2014, police in Ragged Island received information that a group of Haitian Nationals was on board a vessel just off the island. Police with the assistance of local fishermen were able to apprehend 132 Haitian immigrants on board a nearby vessel. Immigration and Royal Bahamas Defense Force officials are in route to Ragged Island to assist in transporting the illegal immigrants to New Providence.

This latest group of Haitian Nationals comprises of 107 males and 25 females.

RBPF Nassau: Armed Robbery at St. Andrews Beach Estates & Mackey St. - 13 arrests & 56 drivers cited - Apr 21, 2014 - 9:17:32 AM


Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving two separate overnight arm robberies.  

In the first incident, shortly before 10:00pm on Sunday 20th April 2014, a man was about to enter his residence located St. Andrews Beach Estates, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of a red Scooter, a laptop and a cell phone. One of the men drove off on the victim’s scooter, while the other man left in a waiting red vehicle occupied by two males.  

In the second incident, shortly before 5:00am on Monday 21st April 2014, a man had just arrived at his home located on Mackey Street, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of a large amount of cash that he had in the trunk of his Chrysler vehicle. The men then fled on foot.

Police in Eleuthera are investigating a traffic accident that has left a 19 – year old man of new providence dead on saturday 19th april 2014.

According to reports, around 8:00pm, the deceased was driving a green and black suzuki motorcycle on queens highway, rock sound, eleuthera, when he lost control and careened unto a dirt road where he crashed...

Crime prevention tip of the day - Never give out information over the phone indicating you are alone or that you won't be home at a certain time.

Nassau Police arrest suspect on bail for triple murder shortly after early morning armed robbery - Apr 20, 2014 - 8:17:39 AM

A quick response by Southwestern Division officers has led to the apprehension of a 39 - year old man on bail for a triple murder moments after he committed an armed robbery on Sunday 20th April 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00am, Southwestern Division officers were on patrol when a woman reported to them that a man had just robbed her of her 2009 Honda Accord, while on Faith Avenue North.

The officers immediately went into the Faith Avenue area, where they spotted the vehicle being driven by a lone male suspect. The officers ordered the male to stop the vehicle but he sped off. The officers pursued the vehicle and the suspect brought the vehicle to a stop after a short chase and fled on foot dropping a handgun to the ground

Abaco, Bahamas - Police in Abaco are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a 27 year old male of Coopers Town, Abaco hospitalized.

Reports are that on Friday 18th April 2014 shortly after 10:00pm, police received information that a male while at the Treasure Cay Public Beach was stabbed in the back area by an unidentified male. He was transported to the Coopers Town Clinic in a private vehicle.

U.S. visitor pleads guilty in Eleuthera traffic death - Apr 17, 2014 - 6:50:49 PM

Eleuthera, BAHAMAS - Police have charged 48 – year old Jack Christopher Botero of New York for the traffic death of 32 - year old Bobby Branville Thompson that occurred in Palmetto Point, Eleuthera on Tuesday 15th April 2014. Botero was arraigned before Island Administrator Marlon Leary in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera today (Thursday 17th April 2014) on the charge of Killing in the Course of Dangerous Driving. Botero pleaded guilty and paid a fine of $5,000:00 after he was fined $5,000.00 or one (1) year imprisonment at HMP.

EXUMA, Bahamas - A man from Florida charged with numerous sexual offenses in Osceola County who fled to the Bahamas was arrested in Exuma on Saturday 12th April 2014.   

According to reports, around 7:50pm, Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers in Exuma, acting on intelligence arrested 70  year old Loomes Wheeler of Kissimmee, Florida in Georgetown.  

Wheeler is wanted for nine (9) Counts of Capital Sexual Battery, four (4) Counts of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct and three (3) Counts of Sexual Performance by a Child.
