Two men dead in Nassau after two shooting incidents - Oct 21, 2014 - 1:08:51 AM


Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving two separate shooting incidents that has left two men dead.

In the first incident, shortly before 3:00pm the victim was standing in front of a residence at Myrton Road off Farrington Road, when a man armed with a handgun shot him multiple times before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Grand Bahama Suspect Arraigned on Robbery with Violence Charge - Oct 20, 2014 - 8:04:05 PM

Freeport, Bahamas - Jeffrey Baldwin Francis age 34 years of Porgy Bay, Bimini, was arraigned before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones in Magistrate Court #3 on Robbery with Violence charge. He was not required to enter a plea, a preliminary enquiry will commence on the 27th January 2015 in Magistrate Court #9, New Providence. He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

This is in connection to an incident that occurred in Bimini on October 13th 2014.

He stands at 5’10” in height, heavy built, medium brown complexion and weights 220 lbs.

The subject is wanted for Armed Robbery and is considered armed and extremely dangerous, he should be approached with caution if seen...

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Monday 20th October 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 12:00midnight this morning, a woman in front of her home located at Bellot Road, when a man armed with a handgun exited a dark Honda vehicle and robbed her of her black 2013 Sportage Kia jeep license number 25972.

Million Dollar Drug Bust during day 5 of Operation Showtime II- 2 firearms seized- 13 arrested - Oct 20, 2014 - 10:22:04 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the seizure of a large quantity of dangerous drugs and the arrest of two men ages 36 and 31 from Acklins Island during day five of “Operation Showtime II ”, held in New Providence late Sunday 18th October 2014 through the early morning of Monday 20th October 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am this morning, a team of officers assigned to “Operation Showtime II ” along with officers from the Police Marine Support Unit acting on intelligence went to an area at sea, one mile south of New Providence, where they intercepted a 32 foot vessel with the two suspects onboard. The officers conducted a search of the vessel and uncovered just over 1,000 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of one million dollars.

ANDROS, Bahamas - Police in Andros are investigating the drowning death of a 53 – year old man of Morgan’s Bluff, Andros that occurred on Thursday 16th October 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 10:30am, the victim along with a male and female were on a diving trip, when he lost consciousness in waters off Morgan’s Bluff Andros. Abaco, Bahamas - On Sunday 5th October 2014 shortly after 2:00am, police received information that suspicious persons were seen walking in the area of Earnest Dean Highway. Officers along with Immigration and Defence Force Officers went to the area and arrested (34) thirty four illegal Haitian Nationals. They are expected to be flown into New Providence on Sunday 5th October 2014.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police need the public’s help in solving two overnight shooting incidents.

In the first incident, a 51yr old male of Blue Hill Road reported that sometime around 12:55am while at Poincianna Drive, he was accosted by a lone male, who produced a firearm and demanded cash. A struggle ensued and the assailant shot him once to the knee before making good his escape.

Reports are that on Friday 3rd October 2014, shortly after 2:00am, police received information that while at a residence on Frobisher Drive, two males were involved in an altercation which resulted in one of the males being stabbed about the body and the other receiving injuries to the face. Abaco, Bahamas - A 43 year old male of Spring City, Abaco is in police custody after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Reports are that on Friday 3rd October 2014 shortly after 2:00pm, police received information that a male is being held by Defence Force Officers who was found in possession of an unlicensed 12 gauge shot gun with (25) live rounds of ammunition on board a vessel at the dock area in Marsh Harbour, Abaco. The suspect and illegal firearm was handed over to police who is investigating this matter.
