Police have launched an island-wide manhunt and public appeal for five suspects responsible for a shooting

incident that has left a man dead and a woman detained in hospital on Sunday 19th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00pm, a man and a woman had just left a party and was walking on Knowles Drive off Tonique Williams-darling Highway, when five masked men armed with handguns in a small white vehicle pulled up and shot them before speeding off...

Police are pleased to report that 44 – year old Tony Austin Maycock, otherwise called “Fats” of Windsor Lane, who is wanted the attempted murder is now in custody. 

Maycock was arrested without incident, at his Windsor Lane home by officers from the Selective Enforcement Team around 9:30pm on Sunday 19th February 2017.

Still wanted is, 20 – year old Rolie Anthony Henfield, otherwise called “Babloo” of Windsor Lane...

The 2017 Pre-IDEC (International Drug Enforcement Conference) 23rd Annual Caribbean Regional Conference will be held in the Bahamas, February 20 – 23, 2017 at the Paul Farquharson Conference Center, Police Headquarters.

Nassau police arrest 6 in connection to 2 shootings - DEU arrest 2 for drug possession - Feb 19, 2017 - 10:33:48 AM

Six (6) persons are in custody assisting police in connection of one of two shooting incidents that occurred on Saturday 18th February 2017.

In the first incident, shortly after 7:00pm, a man was walking on Second Street, Coconut Grove, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Male motorcyclist dies after hit and run on Hibiscus Road, Nassau - Feb 19, 2017 - 10:00:10 AM

Police are searching for a blue Honda motorcar that failed to stop at the scene of a traffic accident that has left a man dead on Saturday 18th February 2017.

According to reports, shortly before 7:00pm, a man was riding his motorcycle on Hibiscus Road off Farrington Road, when a blue Honda vehicle collided with him and failed to stop. The victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries early this morning.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Mobile Division officers took two adult males are in custody after they were caught red- handed breaking into a business establishment on Saturday 18th February 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, Police received a report of a shop breaking in progress at a business establishment located on Chesapeake Road. Officers were immediately dispatched to the location and on arrival the officers were confronted by two male suspects who dropped a number of appliances to the ground. Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the circumstance’s surrounding the death of a 49 year old female of Seagrape, Eight Mile Rock.

Reports are that on Tuesday 14th February 2017 shortly after 5:00pm, police were called to the Accident and Emergency Section of the Rand Memorial Hospital where a female patient who was brought in by EMS personnel with stab wounds to the body had succumbed to her injuries.

Police are actively investigating this matter.

The police are also appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigations into a shooting incident that has left a man dead on Sunday 12th February 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, a male was standing outside of his home located on Derby Road, Yellow Elder Gardens, when two males armed with handguns approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police took into custody an adult male suspect responsible for a shooting incident that has left two Police Officers detained in hospital on Sunday 12th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00midnight, a male and a female police officer responded to a domestic incident at a home located in Valentine Subdivision off Johnson Terrace. While at the home, a man arm with a shotgun approached and shot both of them. The officers returned fire but the suspect was able to flee in a vehicle. The two officers were taken to hospital where they remain in stable condition...
