Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that has left a man dead on Saturday 22nd April 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, police received a report that a man was shot in front of a home located on Knowles Drive off Tonique Williams-Darling Highway. When officers arrived on scene they met the lifeless body of an adult male who had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene...

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a shooting incident that has left a male hospitalized.

Reports are that on Saturday 22nd April 2017 shortly before 8:00pm, a male reported that while in the East Beach Drive area, he was approached by another male who produced a handgun and shot him several times to the body. He was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital via private vehicle where he is listed in serious condition...

Three American males are in police custody after they were found in possession of a quantity of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Thursday 20th April 2017 shortly after 9:00am, Police at the Freeport Lucayan Harbour were called to the Bahamas CustomsTerminal where they arrested three American males who were found in possession of (2) clear plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected marijuana, (1) clear plastic bag containing a grassy substance suspected of being Shrooms, (14) clear plastic bags containing a quantity of suspected edible infused marijuana candy, (2) clear packages of suspected cocaine and (1) container of suspected marijuana candy...

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Quick action by officers from the Mobile Division has resulted in the arrest of three adult males and the recovery of two illegal firearms following a shooting incident that has left a man dead and another detained in serious condition on Friday 21st April 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm, a group of men were standing in front of a car wash located on Market Street near Palm Tree Avenue, when the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle pulled up and fired several shots at them before speeding off. Two of the men were shot and transported to hospital, where one of them succumbed and the other is detained in serious condition...

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama uncovers large marijuana field in the Chesapeake area.

Reports are that on Monday 17th April 2017 shortly before 8:00pm, Officers of the Fire Department were in the Chesapeake area extinguishing a large bush fire, when they discovered in bushes over 100 suspected marijuana plants ranging between seedlings to four feet in height. No arrest were made and Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit are investigating this matter...

An excellent example of “Good Police work” has led to the arrest of four men responsible for stealing a large amount of fuel on Saturday 15th April 2017. According to reports, shortly after 12:00noon, police received a report of persons stealing fuel from a Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) Pipeline off Frank Watson Highway. This pipeline connects BPL’s Clifton Pier Fuel station to the Blue Hills power plant.

When police arrived on the scene they caught an adult male “red handed” loading fuel from a BPL pipeline into several large containers...

Nassau RBPF Report: 2 arrested for drug possession - 3 illegal firearms seized - 2 other arrests / 45 citations - Apr 4, 2017 - 11:40:29 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, police took two adult males into custody for drug possession in two separate incidents on Monday 3rd April 2017.

In the first incident, shortly after 10:00pm, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol on Kemp Road Near Wulff Road, when they saw a man acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The man was subsequently taken into custody.

Eleuthera woman arrested for drug possession during operation - Apr 4, 2017 - 10:42:58 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, an adult female was taken into custody for drug possession during a joint police operation in Eleuthera on Sunday 2nd April 2017.

According to reports, around 2:00pm, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit during a joint operation with officers assigned to the Eleuthera Division executed a search warrant at a home in Deep Creek, where they found five pounds of marijuana along with just of $6,000:00 dollars in cash believed to be the proceeds of crime. An adult female resident of the home was subsequently taken into custody.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the apparent drowning death of teenage boy that occurred on Friday 31st March 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 4:30pm, the teenage boy was swimming in waters off the western tip of Arawak Cay, when he lost consciousness. The victim was transported to shore where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death...
