3 Charged in Abaco for Insulting Bahamas National Flag - Jul 30, 2014 - 6:28:50 PM

ABACO, Bahamas - Three persons were arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Abaco for insulting the National flag.

Reports are that on Saturday 26th July 2014 shortly after 8:00pm, police received information that person(s) had insulted the National Flag at their home in Sands Bank, Abaco. Officers responded and as a result of their investigations three persons were taken into custody.

Two males ages 57 and 20 years old and a female age 44 years all of Haitian decent and of #93 Sands Bank, Abaco were arraigned before the Magistrate Court on Tuesday 29th July 2014, before Magistrate Ancella Evans on the charge of insulting the National Flag, they all pleaded guilty...

Nassau woman robbed of gold 2004 Honda Accord and Armed men steal Leisure Tour Bus license number 13 - Jul 30, 2014 - 12:15:12 PM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving two overnight armed robberies that occurred on Tuesday 29th July 2014.

In the first incident, shortly after 9:00pm, a woman was on Dominica Way near Carmichael Road in her gold 2004 Honda Accord vehicle license number 230869, when two men in a gray Mitsubishi vehicle robbed her of her vehicle and sped off.

In the second incident, shortly before 11:00pm, a man was visiting a friend at Bacardi Road, when a group of men armed with firearms, robbed him of a Leisure Tour Bus license number 13 before speeding off...

26 yr-old Abaco man arrested for drugs and firearm - Drugs found at Old Airport Rd, Exuma - Jul 29, 2014 - 12:32:31 PM

A 26 year old male of Dundas Town, Abaco is in police custody after he was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Firearm.

Reports are that on Monday 28th July 2014 shortly after 5:00pm, Officers of the Marsh Harbour Police Station while on Oleander Street arrested the 26 year old male after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana and cash suspected to be the proceeds from the sale of marijuana.

Officers of the Marsh Harbour Police Station while at the residence of the 26 year old male on the same date, also discovered a .380 silver and black 9mm pistol along with a clip and a small amount of suspected cocaine hidden...

Nassau, Bahamas - Two men ages 32 and 24 are in custody following the discovery of a firearm and a quantity of dangerous drugs by police on Tuesday 29th July 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 2:00am, Mobile Division officers were on patrol in Whites Addition off Kemp Road, where they observed the 32 - year old suspect acting suspiciously. The suspect on seeing the officers fled into his home nearby. The officers gave chase and conducted a search of the suspect’s home, where they uncovered a quantity of marijuana. The suspect was then taken into custody...

U.S. VISITOR ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

According to reports, shortly after 8:00am on Sunday 27th July 2014, Tourism Police Officers arrested a 48– year old female of Ohio onboard a cruise ship at Prince George Wharf for possession of a quantity of marijuana. The suspect is expected to appear in court today to be formally charged.

PEDESTRIAN SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES FROM MISHAP

POLICE are investigating a traffic accident that has left a man dead on Sunday 27th July 2014. Preliminary reports are, that shortly after 8:00pm, a man was driving a white Honda Rav 4 vehicle south on Market Street near Quakoo Street, when he struck a male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street.

New Providence, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving two separate shooting incidents that has left two detained in hospital.

In the first incident, shortly after 8:30am on Saturday 26th July 2014, a man and a woman were at Hillside Park off Mackey Street, Nassau when three men armed with handguns robbed them of cash and shot the male twice in his back before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

In the second incident, shortly after 3:00am on Sunday 27th July 2014, a man was walking to his vehicle from a nightclub located on Apple and Peach Streets..

Early morning traffic fatality in Nassau on Bethel Ave. - Jul 27, 2014 - 12:15:03 PM

Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas - Police are investigating a traffic accident that has left a man dead on Sunday 27th July 2014.Preliminary reports are, that shortly after 4:00am, a white Honda Civic vehicle being driven by a woman along with a male passenger was traveling south along Bethel Avenue north, when it lost control and crashed into a utility pole. The vehicle then careened a few feet along a cliff before it came to a sudden stop.

The male passenger succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The female passenger was transported to hospital where she is detained in serious condition.

Police in Eleuthera Investigating Death of a Man - Police in Eleuthera, Bahamas are investigating the death of a man following a fishing trip on Saturday 26th July 2014. Preliminary reports are, that shortly before 2:00pm, the victim was on a fishing trip with his brother off Harbour Island, when he began to experience severe chest pains while diving in the water.

 US Visitor Arrested in Harbour Island for Drug Possession - According to reports, shortly after 5:00pm on Saturday 26th July 2014, Police in Harbour Island arrested a 20 – year old man of West Palm Beach, Florida for possession of a quantity of marijuana. The suspect is expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Two males ages 42 and 41and a 19 year old female are in police custody after they were arrested by Drug Enforcement Officers for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Friday 25th July 2014 shortly after 10:00am, a team of Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Coral Garden, where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. A total of $510.00 in mixed U.S and Bahamian currency were also seized as proceeds of Dangerous Drugs...

Suspect arraigned on armed robbery charge
: Bernard Evans age 28 years of West Minister Drive, Freeport, was arraigned before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones in Magistrate Court #3 in Freeport, Grand Bahama on Friday 25th July 2014 on (1) count of Arm Robbery and Causing Harm. He was not required to enter a plea, a preliminary enquiry into the matter will be held on the 14th October 2014. He was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that has left a woman detained in hospital on Friday 25th July 2014.

Preliminary reports indicate that shortly after 9:00am, two men armed with firearms were involved in an altercation on Sutton Street that resulted in a woman who was in the area being shot to the back. The woman was transported to hospital where she is detained in serious condition.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body burnt beyond recognition in a house fire on Thursday 24th July 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 6:00pm, Police received a report of a house fire on Collins Avenue. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they met a house engulf in flames.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and upon examining the interior of the home found a body suspected to be that of a female burnt beyond recognition.

Andros, Bahamas - POLICE in Andros took into custody on Wednesday 23rd July 2014, a 23 – year old man of Calabash Bay, Andros for Unlawful Sexual Intercourse along with a 24 – year old woman of Calabash Bay Andros for Failing to report an alleged Sexual Intercourse of a minor.

The man and woman were arrested shortly after 6:00am at their home in Andros. The duo has been transported to New Providence, where Detectives from the Sexual Offences Unit at CDU are continuing investigations into this incident...
