Eight Mile Rock man pleads quilty to unlawful sexual Intercourse and burglary - Sep 15, 2014 - 4:50:04 PM

Freeport, Grand, Bahama - Tommy Lubin age 44 years of Suzie Corner, Hanna Hill, Eight Mile Rock, pleaded guilty to Burglary and Unlawful Sexual Intercourse in the Supreme Court, Grand Bahama. He was sentenced to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence for 10 years on the Burglary charge and 5 years on the Unlawful Sexual Intercourse charge that is to run concurrently.

The matter was heard before Senior Justice Hartman Longley. These matters occurred on the 14th February 2014 in the Eight Mile Rock area...

Abaco, Bahamas - Police are asking for the public’s assistance in helping them to locate a 2005 27ft Catamaran 266 SC vessel with (2) 225 Yamaha engines attached which is valued at $210,000.00.

This vessel was stolen sometime between July 2014 and Saturday 6th September 2014, while moored at the Conch Inn Hotel Marina, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

A reward is being offered based on the information provided that may lead to the safe recovery and return of the vessel.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are appealing to the public for help in solving a shooting incident in the Yellow Elder Gardens area that has left a male dead.

According to reports, sometime around 11:30pm on Sunday 14th September 2014, a 25 year old male was sitting on the porch of a house on Old Cedar Street in Yellow Elder Gardens when he was accosted by a lone male, who produced a handgun. They got into a struggle and the assailant shot the male once to the head before making good his escape through the bushes west of the house...

Bahamas:  According to reports, sometime around 12:30amon Saturday 13 September 2014, a 19 yr old male of James Cistern Eleuthera, was driving along the highway in the James Cistern area when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle collided into a wall pinning the driver inside. Eleuthera Fire and Rescue extricated him from the vehicle before he was pronounced deceased by the local doctor.

Cuban nationals attempt to burn down Carmichael Road Detention Centre dormitory - Sep 12, 2014 - 11:55:44 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police were called to the detention centre to investigate reports that a group of Cuban nationals had become disorderly and attempted to destroy the premises.

According to reports, sometime around 9:3pm on Thursday 11 September 2014, the group of 13 became disorderly and attempted to burn down the dormitory. Police responded to the scene at the detention centre and subdued the group without incident.

Freeport, Grad Bahama - Police are searching for two males who they want to question in connection with an armed robbery and shooting incident.

Reports are that on Wednesday 10th September 2014 shortly after 1:00am, a male was reportedly on East Atlantic Drive when he was approached by two males whom he described as being 6’1” in height with light skin and wearing a blue hoodie and the other he described as standing at 5’10” in height wearing a dark colored hoodie and armed with a handgun. He reportedly ran upon seeing the perpetrators and as a result was shot in the leg. He was then searched and robbed of $2,100.00 ...

Drug bust northwest of Bimini: 2 Biminites arrested - Sep 9, 2014 - 11:08:31 AM

Two Bahamian males arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Sunday 7th September 2014,shortly after 7:00pm, a red and black 19ft speed boat with two males were seen on waters some 10 miles northwest of Bimini by U.S Coast Guard that were eventually boarded and two males ages 24 years and 36 years both Bimini residents were on board. A search of the vessel uncovered (3) three large taped packages of suspected marijuana and a large amount of cash. Both suspects and vessel were taken into Freeport, Grand Bahama and handed over to the Drug Enforcement Unit.
