2 Nassau murder suspects to appear in court Monday - Aug 31, 2014 - 8:34:47 PM

Nassau, Bahamas - A 22 – year old male of Young Close and an 18 – year old male of Cordeaux Avenue are expected to appear in court at 12:00noon on Monday 1st September 2014, to be formally charged for the murder of Latore Mackey that occurred on Monday 25th August 2014.

Nassau, Bahamas -  Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a man who was shot by police whilst attempting to enter a building located on East Street South shortly after 9:30am on Saturday 30th August 2014....

High powered weapon seized by Mobile Division Officers:
According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm on Saturday 30th August 2014, officers from the Mobile Division acting on intelligence went to the St. Andrews Beach Estates area, where they uncovered a high-powered assault rifle underneath a tree.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving an armed robbery
that occurred on Friday 29thAugust 2014.  According to reports, around 10:00pm, police received a report of an armed robbery in progress at a business establishment located on Faith Avenue south. When police arrived on the scene they saw two armed men exiting the business establishment. The suspects on seeing the police fired several shots and fled on foot. Police returned fire but was unable to catch the suspects...

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, police conducted an island wide anti -crime operation last evening that saw large contingents of police officers from the Uniform Divisions under the command of Assistant Commissioners Leon Bethel fan out across New Providence.

Freeport, Bahamas - A 20 year old male is sentenced to (3) three years for killing in the course of dangerous driving.

Reports are that on Thursday 28th August 2014, Tyral Hepburn age 20 years of #100 Mallory Lane, Grand Bahama was arraigned before Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in Magistrate Court #1 for killing in the course of dangerous driving. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to (3) three years at Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence...

EXUMA, Bahamas - A joint police operation in Exuma has dealt a major blow to drug traffickers in the country, after Drug Enforcement Unit officers along with Police in Exuma arrested three men ages 37, 34 and 27 for possession of a large quantity of marijuana on Monday 25th August 2014.


According to reports, around 2:15am, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers along with Police in Exuma acting intelligence mounted a joint drug interdiction in Williams Town Exuma, where they conducted a search of an unoccupied house located along the shoreline and uncovered a number of crocus bags each containing large amounts of marijuana...

Drug arrest made on Queen's Highway, Grand Bahama - Aug 29, 2014 - 11:03:24 AM

Freeport, Bahamas - Three persons are in police custody after they were found in possession of dangerous drugs.

Reports are that on Friday 29th August 2014, shortly after 2:00am, Drug Enforcement Officers while on Queens Highway, conducted a search of a 1998 Toyota Corolla with three occupants, two males and one female and discovered a black travelling bag that contained (2) taped packages of suspected marijuana. The estimates weight of the suspected marijuana is (15) pounds and its estimated street value is $15,000.00.

Grand Bahama's Monday traffic fatality victim identified - Aug 28, 2014 - 1:36:41 PM

Freeport, Bahamas - Police have identified the victim that died on Monday 25th August 2014 as Jason Simmons age 36 years of Garden Villas, Grand Bahama.


An August 26th report said that on Monday 25th August 2014 shortly before 8:00pm, a traffic accident occurred involving a black Yamaha motorbike that was driven south along East Atlantic Drive by a male driver and a 1991 black Lexus that was driven by a female driver. The driver of the motorbike was reportedly driving south on East Atlantic Drive when he reportedly collided with the driver of the Lexus near the junction of Tamarind Street.

RBPF Nassau: Pinewood Gardens convenience store robbed - Man robbed of black 2000 Yamaha motorcycle - Shooting in Pinewood Gardens - Overnight arrests - Aug 28, 2014 - 11:29:31 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving two armed robberies that occurred on Wednesday 27th August 2014.

In the first incident, shortly after 12:00noon, a man armed with a handgun robbed a convenience store located at Cottonwood Street, Pinewood Gardens of a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly before 10:00pm, a man was at Mount Tabor Estates, when a man armed with a handgun robbed him of his black 2000 Yamaha motorcycle and sped off. Investigations are ongoing in both incidents.

RBPF Abaco: Fraud by false pretences, possession of fraud documents and uttering fraud documents - Aug 27, 2014 - 10:12:50 PM

Abaco, Bahamas - On Tuesday 26th August 2014, Solomon Young age 41 years of New Providence, Keith Coakley age 42 years of Freeport, Grand Bahama and Waldez Russell age 23 years of Cedar Harbour, Abaco, were all arraigned before Magistrate A. Evans at the Marsh Harbour Magistrate Court. The three defendants elected summary trial and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The matter was adjourned to the 23rd October 2014 for trial.

Bail was denied for Solomon Young and Keith Coakley who were on bail for similar offences, both were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison. Waldez Russell was granted bail in the sum of $3,000.00 with (1) surety on condition that he surrenders his passport to the court and sign in at the Marsh Harbour Police Station every Monday before 6:00pm...

In keeping with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2014, Officers of the Lucaya Division, Grand Bahama conducted a community walkabout in the Seahorse Village community on Tuesday 26th August 2014, between the hours of 10:00am to 11:30am. The officers spoke with residents, pedestrians and motorists about any concerns in the area while distributing “safety tips” flyers.

Traffic road check:
In keeping with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2014, Officers of the Traffic Division along with Officers of the Lucaya Division, in a combined effort on Wednesday 27th August 2014, between the hours of 7:30am and 9:30am, in the area of Midshipman and Seahorse Road issued a total of (42) citation to motorist for various traffic infractions...

RBPF Nassau: Shooting victim dies in hospital - 2 shooting death victims identified - Murder & armed robbery arraignments - Aug 27, 2014 - 7:06:00 PM

Nassau, Bahamas - A 29  year old man who was shot at Quakoo Street on Saturday 23rd August 2014 died in hospital shortly before 8:00am this morning.

This victim has been identified as Delano Brice of Peter Street.Investigations into this incident are ongoing.

Police identify shooting death victims:  The first victim identified is 37 year old Latore' Vann Mackey of Yamacraw Beach Estates. Mackey was shot to death on Monday 25th August 2014.

The second victim identified is 22  year old Nathaniel Moss of Nassau Village. Mosswas shot and killed at Nassau Village on Sunday 24th August 2014.

According to reports, between 1:30pm and 3:20pm on Tuesday 26th August 2014, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on intelligence arrested a 24 year old man of Palmeto Avenue, a 22 year old man of Young Close, a 20 year old man Bimini Avenue and an 18  year old male of Young Close in connection with Mackey’s murder...

Infant perishes in house fire in Elizabeth Estates, Nassau - Aug 27, 2014 - 10:36:53 AM

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating a fatal house fire that left an infant child dead Tuesday 26th August 2014. According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, Police received a report of a house fire at St. Vincent Avenue, Elizabeth Estates.

On arrival at the scene firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the remains of an infant child burned beyond recognition.

36 yr old Grand Bahama male dead after motorbike and car collide - Aug 26, 2014 - 7:24:38 PM

Freeport, Grand Bahama - A thirty six year old male is dead after he was involved in a traffic accident on East Atlantic Drive in Freeport.

Reports are that on Monday 25th August 2014 shortly before 8:00pm, a traffic accident occurred involving a black Yamaha motorbike that was driven south along East Atlantic Drive by a male driver and a 1991 black Lexus that was driven by a female driver. The driver of the motorbike was reportedly driving south on East Atlantic Drive when he reportedly collided with the driver of the Lexus near the junction of Tamarind Street. The driver of the motorbike received injuries about the body and was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital via EMS personnel. Both vehicles received damages.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police took into custody on Monday 25th August 2014, three men for questioning reference to the recent weekend murders. A 20 year old, and two 23 year old males are in custody...

A 53 – year old man of Newark, Delaware, USA, is in custody after he was arrested for Failing to Declare on Monday 25th August 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00pm, the man was returning to the United States, when US Customs and Border Patrol officials detained him at the Preclearance Departure Lounge at LPIA for failing to declare, $35,625.00...
