The Royal Bahamas Police Force is asking the public for help in locating 31 – year old Tico Omar Lightbourne, otherwise called “Pit bull” of McCartney Lane and Wilson Track, New Providence. He is wanted in connection with the Murder and attempted murder of two males that occurred on Saturday 25th March 2017, at a club located on Quintine Alley and Wulff Road.

Lightbourne is a dark brown male, medium build, about 5’ 5” to 5’ 7” tall.

Police in Exuma are investigating a traffic accident that has left a man dead on Saturday 25th March 2017.

According to reports, around 6:00pm, a collision occurred on Queens Highway, George Town, Exuma involving a Suzuki Solio motorcar driven by an adult male and a Mack truck driven by an adult male. Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, the Royal Bahamas Police Force is reporting that, through two coordinated operations, 6 firearms and several rounds of ammunition were seized over a 24-hour period.

In the first incident, which occurred around 9:30pm on Wednesday 22nd March 2017, officers assigned to the Selective Enforcement Team were conducting an operation on East Street South, when they saw a man acting in a suspicious manner. He was accosted, searched and a 9mm pistol and fifteen rounds of ammunition taken from his waistband. The man was subsequently arrested and taken into custody...

Bimini drug seizure suspects arraigned in Nassau - Mar 21, 2017 - 3:21:43 PM

Shelrey Swain age 42 years of Murphy Town, Abaco was arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes in Magistrate Court #8 Nassau Street, New Providence on Possession of Dangerous Drugs with the intent to supply, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial on the 16th June 2017.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with U.S Law Enforcement Officers took three men in custody after they seized a large amount of dangerous drugs during two separate incidents in Bimini on Sunday 19th March 2017.

The first incident took place shortly after 8:00am, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on South Bimini where they discovered 191.5 lbs. of marijuana with a street value of over $191,000 (one hundred and ninety one thousand dollars). Two suspects were hauled before the Magistrate Court in Grand Bahama on Thursday 16th March 2017, one for the shooting death of a male in Bimini and the other for armed robbery and rape that occurred in 2015.

Greg Israel Pinder age 42 years of Easter Avenue was arraigned before Magistrate Charlton Smith in Magistrate Court #2 on Rape and Armed Robbery charges. Her Majesty's Coroner, Mrs. Jeanine Weech-Gomez, is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a male officer from the Bahamas Department of Corrections, who died while in lawful custody for a domestic incident on Thursday, 16th March, 2017.

Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that have left two men detained in in hospital on Tuesday 14th March 2017.

In the first incident, shortly after 9:00pm, a man showed up to hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was treated and detained in stable condition.

18-yr-old Grand Bahama male seriously injured in traffic accident - Mar 13, 2017 - 1:53:31 PM

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a traffic accident that has left an 18 year old male hospitalized.

Reports are that on Saturday 11th March 2017 shortly before 4:00am, police were called to a traffic accident on Midshipman Road involving a 2002 Toyota Highlander, that was travelling west on Midshipman Road when the vehicle overturned and landed into nearby bushes. The lone passenger was ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle received extensive damages. The victim was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital and was seen by doctor where he is listed in serious condition...
