POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN ARMED ROBBERY AND SHOOTING

Police are searching for the suspects responsible for a shooting incident and an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday 15th January 2017.

In the first incident, shortly before 12:00noon, a man was standing in front of a home on Key West Street, when he was shot by another man who fled on foot. The man was rushed to hospital where he is detained in stable condition...

Shooting suspects in custody after high-speed chase in Nassau - Jan 16, 2017 - 8:46:24 PM


Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2017 Policing Plan, brave and courageous officers of the Royal Bahamas Force took two suspects into custody following a high-speed chase on Sunday 15th January 2017.

According to reports the incident all unfolded shortly after 10:00am. A man was standing on Dumping Ground Corner when two men in a silver Nissan vehicle approached and shot him before speeding off.

The man was rushed to hospital, where he is detained in serious condition...

Police in Eleuthera, Bahamas are seeking the public’s help in locating 21 – year old Alexander Michael Medon of Governors Harbour, Eleuthera.

He is wanted for questioning reference to a number of Shop Breakings on that Island.

Medon is a light brown male, slim build about 5’ 9” tall.

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION IN THREE SHOOTINGS
-- Nassau, Bahamas - The police are appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigations into three separate shooting incidents that has left two men dead and another in hospital.

In the first incident, shortly before 9:00pm on Friday 13th January 2017, a man was standing in the rear of his home located on Dunmore Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The man was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Nassau police seize 3 firearms, arrest 3 over 24-hour period - Jan 15, 2017 - 8:16:22 AM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing priorities for 2017, police is reporting continued success in the removal of illegal guns from the nation’s streets with the seizure of three firearms in separate incidents Saturday 14th January 2017.

In the first incident, shortly before 8:00pm, Mobile Division Officers were on routine patrol on Kemp Road, when they observed a Nissan March Car with three suspicious men inside. The men on seeing the officers sped off. After a short chase the vehicle came to a stop on Sutton Street, where the men threw two firearms out of the vehicle and fled on foot...

Police in Abaco are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday 12th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 8:00pm, a male while in the area of a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd was held up at gun point by two mask males, one of whom was brandishing a firearm. He was robbed of his licensed .22 Winchester rifle and cell phone. Both males made good their escape.

Police have launched a manhunt and public appeal for several suspects wanted for Murder and a number of recent Arm Robberies.

The first suspect is 25 – year old Mark McKenzie (seen top) of Blue Hill Heights, Worrick Street. He is wanted for questioning reference to murder.

McKenzie is a dark male of a slim build about 5’ 3” tall....

Nassau police report shooting death off Kemp Road area - Jan 12, 2017 - 12:11:37 PM

Nassau, Bahamas - The police are appealing to the public for information to assist in their investigations into a shooting incident that has left a man dead on Wednesday 11th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 6:00pm, police received a report of a man being shot in the area of Kingston and Denver Streets off Kemp Road. When responding officers arrived on the scene they met the lifeless body of a male who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers from the Police Traffic Department are investigating the circumstances the death of a male pedestrian, who died following a traffic accident on Tuesday 10th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00pm, an adult male was walking on Tonique Williams - Darling Highway when a vehicle driven by an adult male struck him. The man was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries...

DEU drug bust in Nassau, 1 arrested - Jan 11, 2017 - 12:18:42 PM

Unit officers took an adult male into custody following the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 10th January 2017.

Reports are that around 3:30pm, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on information went to, Skyline Drive where they observed an adult male with a large plastic bag in his hand ran from a Silver Note vehicle into the nearby bushes. The vehicle with two adult males inside then sped off. After a short foot chase the officers caught the suspect who ran into the bushes and found him with five (5) taped packages of cocaine. The suspect was subsequently arrested. The other two suspects abandoned the vehicle after it crashed in the nearby area...

Second Grand Bahama suspect arraigned on drug possession with Intent to supply - Jan 8, 2017 - 10:08:15 AM

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Gerardo Davis age 34 years of McCleans Town was arraigned in Magistrate Court 8 in New Providence before Magistrate Forbes on Possession of Dangerous Drug with the intent to supply charge on Thursday 5th January 2017. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in New Providence until trial on May 10th 2017.

This is in reference to the drug seizure in waters between Sweetings Cay and McCleans Town on November 30th 2016, where over four million dollars in Dangerous Drugs were recovered. Davis was arrested in McCleans Town on Tuesday 3rd January 2017...

Reports are that shortly before 10:00pm, Police received a report of an altercation between two men at the rear a residence off Carmichael Road near Golden Isles Road. Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a shooting incident that has left a male hospitalized on Friday 6th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00pm, a male was in the Grenfel Avenue area when another male brandishing a firearm who was an occupants of a vehicle, opened fire and shot the victim multiple times about the body. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via private vehicle and is listed in serious condition.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities, Police in Eleuthera took a man and woman into custody following the seizure of an illegal handgun along with a quantity of dangerous drugs on Thursday 5th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00pm, Police were on routine patrol in Spanish Wells, when then saw a man in a restaurant who aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a pistol with 3 live rounds of ammunition along with a small quantity of cocaine...
