Freeport, Bahamas - Officers at the Central Detective Unit are continuing their
investigations this afternoon, Sunday 20th May, 2012, into a shooting incident that left a 41 year old resident of Freeport in the Rand Memorial Hospital in ‘stable’ condition. It was approximately 10:11pm on Saturday 19th May, 2012 when the
police responded to a call that gunshots were heard in the Coral Road area near Settlers Way.

On arrival at the scene, the officers found the victim lying on the ground in the parking lot of a Shopping Plaza on Coral Road near East Settlers Way. The man who was suffering from several gunshot wounds about the body was transported...

Freeport, Bahamas - This morning, Friday 18th May, 2012, four adults, two males – SAMUEL JEREMY GIBSON DOB 9TH July, 1986, LAWRENCE SEYMOUR DOB 14th
November, 1974 and two females, ALEXIS BLACK DOB 23rd August, 1986 and RONEL BLACK DOB 30th August, 1978, all of Pinedale, Eight Mile Rock, were arraigned before Magistrate Gwendolyn Claude in the Magistrate’s Court at Eight Mile Rock on the charge of murder.

This arraignment is in relation to the death of Peter Beneby AKA Peter Charlton age 46 years of Hanna Hill, Eight Mile Rock on Monday 14th May, 2012 which was classified as the fifth (5th) homicide for Grand Bahama Island...

Freeport, Bahamas - The body of a male found floating in waters at the rear of Bell Channel Club was officially identified today, Thursday 17th May, 2012 as Kenneth Amow DOB 5th December, 1930 of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. Foul play is not suspected.

Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas - It was a combined effort between the Police and Bahamas Immigration officers who were conducting a check an apartment in the Lucaya area at 12noon today, Wednesday 16th May, 2012, when four illegal immigrants were discovered.

Three males and one female ages 28, 37, 43 and 55 – three from Dominican Republic and one from Jamaica were taken into custody. During a further search of the apartment by the officers, one pound of suspected marijuana with a street value of $1,000.00 was also found...

Freeport, Bahamas - This morning, Thursday 10th May, 2012, the Police here in Grand Bahama are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two males who reportedly robbed employees at a local food store in the Freeport area at approximately 8:55pm last evening, Wednesday 9th May 2012.

Initial reports are that the employees were held up by the two culprits, both armed with handguns, who demanded cash. After robbing the store, the men made good their escape running in a southern direction from the establishment. They were described as being slim built and dressed in all black clothing...

Grand Bahama, Bahamas - A 39 year old male of Freeport is in Police custody this evening after he was arrested in the Fawcett Lane area of Freeport shortly before 7:00am this morning, Saturday 28th April, 2012.

Vigilant officers from the Mobile Patrol Division were on mobile patrol in the Fawcett Lane when a vehicle driven by the suspect was searched by police which led to the recovery of a handgun along with a quantity of ammunitions.

Officers at the Central Detective Unit are continuing their investigations into this matter.

Yesterday, Thursday 26th April, 2012, Police in Grand Bahama recorded its second traffic fatality for the year, 2012. The victim is a two year old boy who was a pedestrian in the Jones Town area of Eight Mile Rock when he was struck by a vehicle driven a female shortly after 2:00pm on Sunday 1st April, 2012.

The child was subsequently transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital in New Providence for medical assistance but succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of the accident...

Drexton Belony DOB 9th September, 1993 and Eduardo Evans DOB 19th April, 1986, both of Freeport, were arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes in Magistrate’s Court No.2 on the charges of:

•Armed Robbery,
• Murder and
•Possession of a Firearm while committing an Indictable Offence.

The accused men were not required to enter a plea and they were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence until the adjourned date,

Grand Bahama Island - An early morning call for the police to the Hearne Lane area in Garden Villas, Freeport, on Sunday 8th April, 2012 at 1:20am resulted in the discovery of a male victim suffering from a wound to the upper body.

The 38 year old resident of Freeport was transported to the Emergency Section of the Rand Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Grand Bahama police seeking public assistance in 2 homicide matters - Apr 4, 2012 - 7:14:23 PM

Grand Bahama Island - Police here on the island of Grand Bahama are seeking the public’s assistance in the murder of Franklyn McIntosh that occurred on 19th January, 2012. His body was discovered on the side of Kennedy Drive during the early morning hours of January, 19th and his vehicle recovered on Watkins Lane off Pioneers Way. Secondly, the police are also calling for assistance in the murder of Allend Fertil that occurred at Churchill Road in South Bahamia on 3rd March, 2012.

His body was discovered at the rear of an apartment complex at Churchill Road. Anyone with information regarding these incidents are being asked to contact the Central Detective Unit at 350-3107/8, 352-9774/5 or the Police Emergency at 911...
