Dangerous drug arrest – Police in Grand Bahama arrest an 18 year old male of Gold Rock Creek, after he was found with a quantity of Dangerous Drugs on Monday 14th August 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 1:00pm, police were called to a traffic accident on East Sunrise Highway and Gedney Drive that involved a 2006 GMC Sierra vehicle and a Silver Nissan Tiida. The occupants in the silver Nissan were all injured. One female passenger age 76 years succumbed at the scene, all other passengers were transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital where two other persons later succumbed to their injuries. The lone male driver in the 2006 GMC Sierra vehicle received minor injuries and was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via private vehicle...

Police in Grand Bahama are also investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred on Friday 21st July 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 10:00pm, a male reported that while in the area of the International Bazaar, he was held up and robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male who robbed him of his cell phone and personal items before making good his escape on foot...

3 Grand Bahamians taken into Police custody for firearm & ammunition possession - Jul 20, 2017 - 9:42:38 AM

Reports are that shortly after 2:00pm on Wednesday 19th July 2017, Drug Enforcement Officers while in the Lewis Yard area, had reason to searched a vehicle and discovered inside a black Ruger 9mm firearm with (10) rounds of ammunition. Two male occupants in that vehicle were arrested and taken into police custody.
Further investigations led Drug Enforcement Officers to a home in the Prospero Drive area where they uncovered an AK47 rifle with (5) 7.62 rounds of ammunition. A female of that resident was arrested and taken into police custody.

All persons are expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court this week.
Police are appealing to the public to share information on any illegal/suspicious activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may

A full military funeral service will be held for the late 166 Wilfred Anthony Winters on Friday 21st July 2017 at 11:00am at the St Pauls Methodist Church, East Sunrise Highway and Beachway Drive, Freeport, Grand Bahama.

Officiating will be Rev. Ken Lewis and Dr. Emmit Weir, assisted by Fr. Stephen Davies, Force Chaplin and other members of the Clergy.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rest View Memorial Mortuary & Crematorium Limited, Coral Road. The public viewing is on Thursday 20th July 2017.

Mr. Wilfred Winters joined the Royal Bahamas Police Force on August 14th 1978, where he was recruited in New Providence.

The greater part of his career in the Royal Bahamas Police Force was spent in Grand

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a male hospitalized in serious condition.

Reports are that on Tuesday 11th July 2017 shortly before 8:00pm, a male while at a residence in the area of Frobisher Drive, was stabbed multiple times to the body with a knife by another male. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via private vehicle where he was seen by doctor and is listed in serious condition...

RBPF Grand Bahama: Suspects Arraigned on Murder and Armed Robbery Charges - Jun 7, 2017 - 9:46:09 AM

Police in Grand Bahama arraigned two suspects on two separate matters before the Magistrate Court on Tuesday 6th June 2017.

The first suspect to be arraigned was Isiah Walkine age 23 years of Holmes Rock, Grand Bahama. He was arraigned before Magistrate Charlton Smith in Magistrate Court #2 on an armed robbery charge. He was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to the 1st August 2017 for a preliminary enquiry.

He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in New Providence until trial...

16-yr-old dead after stabbing incident in Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama - May 30, 2017 - 10:24:35 AM

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the death of a 16 year old male on Monday 29th May 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 6:00pm, police were called to the Hanna Hill, Eight Mile Rock area, where they met a male with an apparent stab wound to the body. He was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he later succumbed to his injury.

Two males ages 26 and 19 are assisting police with their investigation into this matter...

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Friday 26th May 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 5:00pm, an armed male entered a business establishment atthe Millennium Mall situated on West Atlantic Drive and robbed it off an undetermined amount of money before making good his escape on foot.

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for anyone with any information that can assist in this investigation...

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Police in Grand Bahama need your assistance in solving the island’s latest homicide that occurred on Thursday 25th May 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 11:00pm, police were called to an area at the rear of East Sunrise Plaza, where they met the body of a male in a vehicle with gunshot wounds to the head. EMS personnel were called to the scene and reported no signs of life.

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for anyone with any information that can assist them in their investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama at telephone number 350-3107...

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a male hospitalized on Thursday 25th May 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 10:00am, a male was reportedly involved in an altercation with another male in the Fawcette Lane area when he was stabbed to the body. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via private vehicle, seen by doctor and is listed in serious condition.

A 20 year old male of Oates Lane was arrested by police in connection with this matter...

Law Enforcement Officials uncover a large amount of Dangerous Drugs at the Grand Bahama Container Port on Monday 15th May 2017.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with other Law Enforcement Officials and Security Personnel at the Grand Bahama Container Port, acting on information conducted a search of a 20 ft. container where they uncovered (7) seven black duffle bags, each containing suspected cocaine. The estimated weight of the Dangerous Drugs is 490.5lbs and its estimated street value is five million one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars...

Man found hanging in a tree in Fortune Bay Drive area of Grand Bahama - May 15, 2017 - 4:19:12 PM

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the death of a 39 year old male.

Reports are that on Monday 15th May 2017 shortly after 9:00am, police were called to the Fortune Bay Drive area where a 39 year old male was found hanging from a tree. He was pronounced dead on scene by doctor. Foul play is not suspected in this matter however an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

She is described as standing at 5’6” in height, weighing between 180lbs – 200lbs, medium built with light brown complexion. She was last seen on Thursday 4th May 2017 around 10:00am at her residence, clad in a red shirt, gray hat and long dark colored jean pants.

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama uncovers large marijuana field in the Chesapeake area.

Reports are that on Monday 17th April 2017 shortly before 8:00pm, Officers of the Fire Department were in the Chesapeake area extinguishing a large bush fire, when they discovered in bushes over 100 suspected marijuana plants ranging between seedlings to four feet in height. No arrest were made and Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit are investigating this matter...

Reports are that on Saturday 1st April 2017, shortly after 9:00pm, police were called to a business establishment on Oakes Street where reports of gunshots were heard. Officers on arrival at the scene met the lifeless body of a female lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the body.

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday 28th March 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 12:00pm, a male armed with a handgun entered a business establishment in Russell Town, Eight Mile Rock and robbed the employee before making good his escape on foot.

A short time later police arrested a 22 year old male of Russell Town, Eight Mile Rock, who is assisting police with their investigation into this matter.
