In keeping with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2018, priority‘s #1, Officers of the Grand Bahama District, under the command of Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Samuel Butler, took (5) males into custody, after they were found in possession of illegal Firearms, Ammunition and Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Friday 25th May 2018, shortly after 11pm, three males were arrested in the Eight Mile Rock area after a black .40 pistol with (8) rounds of ammunition were discovered in a 2007 Nissan Note that they were driving...

Cornel Beckles age 19 years of Tamarind Street was arraigned before Magistrate Charlton Smith in Magistrate Court #2 on Attempted Murder charge. He was not required to enter a plea as the matter is an indictable offence. The case was adjourned to Tuesday 14th August 2018, for trial. He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services...

RBPF Grand Bahama: DEU Officer uncover illegal firearm and ammunition - May 22, 2018 - 7:15:38 AM

Reports are that on Sunday 20th May 2018, shortly after 10:00pm, Officer of the Drug Enforcement Unit, while in the area of the Murchison Drive, in a private vehicle, observed a male acting suspicious near a derelict vehicle. The officer then proceeded to the area, and discover a .45 pistol with a magazine containing (7) .45 ammunition. The unknown male made good his escape on foot.

Investigation is continuing in this matter...

Reports are that on Saturday 19th May 2018, shortly before 4:00am, police were called to the East Mall Drive and Explorers Way area, where a grey GMC truck that was apparently travelling south on East Mall Drive on the east bound lane, with two occupants, had collided into a tree. The male driver was taken to hospital in stable condition and the female passenger died on scene.

Police are investigating and are appealing to the motoring public, to drive within the speed limit, and to always buckle up...

RBPF: 3 males arrested for possession of marijuana plants in Grand Cay - May 16, 2018 - 6:19:25 AM

Reports are that on Tuesday 15th May 2018 shortly before 11:00am, police in Grand Cay, while on enquiries on Percy Rolle Highway, Grand Cay, at a residence, officers discovered (13) suspected marijuana plants and later arrested (3) males, all of Grand Cay.

All plants were collected and investigation will continue in this matter...

Reports are that shortly after 4:00am on Sunday 11th March 2018, police received information from the Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association of a vessel in distress. The Royal Bahamas Police Force Marine Section, the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, along with Basra, conducted a search in the area of Great Stirrup Cay and located (4) males who were adrift, (3) Bahamians and (1) Honduran.
