Police in Exuma are investigating a traffic accident that has left a man dead on Saturday 25th March 2017.

According to reports, around 6:00pm, a collision occurred on Queens Highway, George Town, Exuma involving a Suzuki Solio motorcar driven by an adult male and a Mack truck driven by an adult male. The driver of the motorcar received serious injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by the island’s local doctor...

Bimini drug seizure suspects arraigned in Nassau - Mar 21, 2017 - 3:21:43 PM

Shelrey Swain age 42 years of Murphy Town, Abaco was arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes in Magistrate Court #8 Nassau Street, New Providence on Possession of Dangerous Drugs with the intent to supply, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial on the 16th June 2017.

Romeris Stuart age 45 years and Richard Smith age 44 years, both of Bailey Town, Bimini were arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes in Magistrate Court #8 Nassau Street, New Providence on (2) counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs with the intent to supply....

Police make two major drug seizures in Bimini - Mar 19, 2017 - 11:10:14 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with U.S Law Enforcement Officers took three men in custody after they seized a large amount of dangerous drugs during two separate incidents in Bimini on Sunday 19th March 2017.

The first incident took place shortly after 8:00am, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on South Bimini where they discovered 191.5 lbs. of marijuana with a street value of over $191,000 (one hundred and ninety one thousand dollars). Police in Bimini are investigating a shooting incident that has left a 21 year old male dead.

Reports are that on Saturday 11th March 2017 shortly before 12:00pm, police were called to a South Bimini residence where reports are that two male relatives were reportedly involved in a domestic altercation which resulted in one of the males being fatally shot. The male victim was transported to the local clinic and was seen by doctor where he later died...

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers from New Providence along with U.S Counterparts and Officers of the Abaco Division, arrested three adult males following the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs, cash and firearm on Friday 24th February 2017.

Police are pleased to report that 44 – year old Tony Austin Maycock, otherwise called “Fats” of Windsor Lane, who is wanted the attempted murder is now in custody. 

Maycock was arrested without incident, at his Windsor Lane home by officers from the Selective Enforcement Team around 9:30pm on Sunday 19th February 2017.

Still wanted is, 20 – year old Rolie Anthony Henfield, otherwise called “Babloo” of Windsor Lane...

POLICE in Inagua are investigating the circumstances surrounding the apparent drowning death of an adult male that occurred on Friday 17th February 2017.

Traffic fatality in Abaco, pedestrian struck in Dundas Town - Jan 27, 2017 - 3:02:44 PM

Police in Abaco are investigating a traffic accident that has left a male dead.

Reports are that on Thursday 26th January 2017 shortly before 10:00pm, a male was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle on Forest Drive, Dundas Town, Abaco. EMS personnel were called to the scene and transported the victim to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was pronounced dead by doctor. Police are actively investigating this matter.

Eleuthera police arrest female after stabbing and robbery incident - Jan 25, 2017 - 8:22:23 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police in Eleuthera took an adult female into custody following an armed robbery on Tuesday 25th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00am, a woman was driving her vehicle in Palmetto Point, when she picked up an adult female who asked for a ride to Savannah Sound. Upon arrival in Savannah Sound the female passenger stabbed the woman with a knife and demanded cash. The victim handed over her handbag and was stabbed again. The suspect then took a small amount of cash from the handbag and fled on foot...

Motorcyclist dies following crash in Andros - Jan 24, 2017 - 10:16:56 AM

Police in Andros are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following a motorcycle accident that occurred on Monday 23rd January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00pm, a man was riding his Honda motorcycle at the junction of Lowe Sound and Morgan’s Bluff, when he lost control and crashed into a tree. The man succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Honduran man dies after industrial accident in Abaco - Jan 18, 2017 - 11:12:15 AM

Police in Abaco are investigating the death of a Honduran male on board a vessel docked at the Marsh Harbour Government Dock.

Reports are that on Tuesday 17th January 2017, shortly before 2:00pm, the male worker reportedly sustained fatal injuries on board the vessel when a metal pallet broke loose and fell on the decease. He was taken to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was pronounced dead by doctor.

He is wanted for questioning reference to a number of Shop Breakings on that Island.

Medon is a light brown male, slim build about 5’ 9” tall.

Police in Abaco are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday 12th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 8:00pm, a male while in the area of a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd was held up at gun point by two mask males, one of whom was brandishing a firearm. He was robbed of his licensed .22 Winchester rifle and cell phone. Both males made good their escape.

Illegal immigrants arrested in Bimini - Dec 20, 2016 - 11:47:16 AM


A team of Law Enforcement Officers arrest (16) Illegal Immigrants on the island of Bimini.

Reports are that shortly after 6:00pm on Monday 19th December 2016, Law Enforcement Officers inclusive of Police Officers, Defense Force Officers and Immigration Officers, acting on information went to a business establishment situated on Kings Highway, Alice Town, Bimini and discovered (15) Illegal Immigrants; (8) Chinese and (7) Ecuadorian Nationals. They were all arrested and taken into custody.

Stabbing in Abaco, man airlifted to Nassau - Dec 17, 2016 - 10:00:28 AM

Police in Abaco are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a male hospitalized in serious condition.

Reports are that on Friday 16th December 2016, shortly after 2:00pm, police were called to a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd, where two males were involved in an altercation that resulted in one of the males being stabbed about the body. The victim was taken to the Marsh Harbour Government Clinic where he was seen by doctor and is listed in serious condition. He was airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention.

Man dies in Eleuthera traffic accident, three others in hospital - Dec 8, 2016 - 12:39:17 PM

Police in Eleuthera, Bahamas are investigating the circumstances surrounding a traffic accident that have left a man dead and three other men detained in hospital on Wednesday 7th December 2016.

According to reports, around 10:30pm, a man was driving Honda Civic vehicle along a road in the Current, Eleuthera, accompanied three male passengers, when he lost control and veered several feet into the bushes, where the vehicle crashed. One of the male passengers was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver along with the other two males were taken to the local clinic and later airlifted to New Providence, where they were admitted to hospital in stable condition.

Body found after house fire in North Eleuthera - Nov 24, 2016 - 5:50:35 PM

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body burned beyond recognition found in a house following fire on Thursday 24th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00am, Police in Eleuthera received a report of a building fire in Current, North Eleuthera. When responding officers arrived on the scene they met a two storey home engulf in flames. Despite the courageous efforts by the police and community volunteers the fire destroyed three adjacent homes. When the fire was extinguished, the officers while conducting a search of one of the homes found the body of a human being burnt beyond recognition. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cost of death.
