RBPF: Police Investigates traffic fatality in Long Island - Sep 27, 2018 - 10:19:12 AM

Police on Long Island are investigating a traffic accident which left an adult male dead, Wednesday, 26thtSeptember, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, a male was driving a blue 2008 Honda Accord car in the area of McKenzie Hill, Hard Bargain, Long Island, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall. Medical Personnel were called to the scene, attempted to revive the victim but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene...

RBPF: Firearms, ammunition and dangerous drug arrest in Abaco - Sep 26, 2018 - 6:00:19 AM

Reports are that on Tuesday 25th September 2018, shortly after 3:00pm, officers of the Abaco District, acting on information, went to a residence in Leisure Lee, Abaco, where a search was conducted and officers discovered (1) .22 rifle, (1) .357 smith & wesson revolver, (19) .22 rounds, (6) .357 rounds, (1) 12 gauge shotgun, (1) partial 12 gauge shotgun, (2) barrels, (1) magazine, (1) cross bow, and (1) marijuana plant.

A female and a male were arrested and taken into police custody. They are expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court later this week...

Human body found in sand in Abaco - Sep 25, 2018 - 6:32:43 AM

Reports are that on Monday 24th September 2018 shortly before 6:00pm, police in Abaco were called to the beach area of Crossing Rock, where officers were shown a human body buried in the sand. The body was retrieved by police and taken to the Marsh Harbor Clinic. An autopsy would be performed to determine the exact cause of death and further investigation by police to its identification.

Police are investigating this matter...

Bimini police investigating alleged drowning - Sep 21, 2018 - 6:36:02 AM

Reports are that on Thursday 20th September 2018, shortly after 12:00pm, police were alerted of a drowning of a Bahamian male, who was a crew member on board a 45 ft. fishing vessel named “Dawn Celeste”. Further investigation revealed that while diving in waters of the Great Isaac, the victim was found lying at the bottom of the ocean unresponsive. He was taken to the Bimini Clinic, and later pronounced dead. An autopsy would be performed to determine the exact cause of death...

Abaco police discover large marijuana field - Sep 20, 2018 - 10:52:59 AM

Reports are that on Wednesday 19th September 2018, shortly after 4:00pm, officers in the Abaco District, acting on information, proceeded to an area on Earnest Dean Highway, just south of the International Airport, where they discovered a large marijuana field with marijuana plants ranging from 1 ft. to 7 ft. in height.

The plants were all uprooted and collected. The total count of the plants are 387 plants, with a street value of $154,800.00...

Police in Abaco are investigating an armed robbery at a residence in Leisure Lee, Abaco.

Reports are that on Sunday 16th September 2018, shortly after 8:00pm, police were called to a residence in the Leisure Lee area, where it was reported that three masked and armed men, entered a home, held up the occupants and robbed them of a quantity of jewelry, a shot gun and a 2013 champagne colored Buick Lacrosse...

Police are investigating a fire which destroyed part of the All Age School on Rum Cay, Saturday, 1st September, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 4:000pm, police were alerted to a fire at the school in the settlement of Port Nelson. Officers, assisted by members of the community, were able to extinguish the fire, which was reportedly contained to the kitchen area, causing extensive damage...

RBPF: One male is dead as a result of an industrial accident on the Island of Bimini - Aug 29, 2018 - 2:37:18 PM

Reports are that on Wednesday 29th August 2018, shortly after 9:00am, police were called to a construction site at a resort on North Bimini, where reports are that a male Dominican worker, who was operating a crane and lifting a 40ft beam from a barge to the dock, when the cable of the crane allegedly snapped, causing the beam to fall. The fallen beam landed onto the crane cabin that the victim was inside. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Bimini Clinic...

Reports are that on Monday 27th August 2018, shortly after 5:00pm, officer of the Abaco District, acting on information, proceeded to the area of Forest Drive, Murphy Town, Abaco, where they proceeded to search a caravan vehicle with no license plate attached. Officers discovered two packages of suspected marijuana and a quantity of cash. Three males were arrested and taken into police custody..

Reports are that on Saturday 25th August 2018, shortly after 8:00am, officers while on routine patrol in Alice Town, Bimini, observed a vehicle with two male passengers and a strong odor emanating from it. Officers then stopped, and proceeded to search the vehicle and both suspects reference to possession of dangerous drugs. While doing so, the driver fled the scene making good his escape. Officers then searched the passenger and vehicle where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana on the passenger and inside the vehicle...

RBPF: Dangerous drug arrest in Bimini - Aug 12, 2018 - 8:28:59 AM

Reports are that on Friday 10th August 2018, shortly after 10:00pm, a Bimini resident was arrested by officers for possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply, after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana. He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court early next week.

In the second incident, on Saturday 11th August 2018, shortly before 12pm, officers acting on information went to an area near Radio Beach in Alice Town, Bimini where they discovered in bushes, a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. There were no arrest made in this matter and the estimated street value of the suspected marijuana is $5,000.00...

RBPF: Bimini Police make drug discovery and arrest one male - Aug 2, 2018 - 6:50:44 AM

Reports are that on Wednesday 1st August 2018, shortly after 4:00pm, police in Bimini went to a residence on North Bimini, Bailey Town, while armed with a search warrant where they discovered a plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected marijuana.

A 31 year old male of that residence was arrested and taken into police custody.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, Friday, 13th July, 2018 police on Inagua Island were called to a home on Burnside Street, after a male was found hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom.  Medical Personnel on the island visited the scene and pronounced the male dead.

One male dead after Abaco traffic accident - Jul 13, 2018 - 8:06:37 AM

Reports are that on Saturday 7th July 2018 shortly after 1:00am, a traffic accident occurred on Queen Street, Sandy Point, Abaco, involving a gray 1998 Nissan Altima and a male pedestrian. The victim was transported to the Sandy Point Government Clinic via private vehicle where he was seen by doctor and later airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention.

On Thursday 12th July 2018, the victim succumbed to his injuries...

According to reports, shortly after 8:00am Monday, 2nd July 2018, Andros Division Officers, acting on information went to a busy area near to Bahamas Agriculture Research Community (BARC), North Andros, where they uncovered a marijuana field with approximately 600 marijuana plants. No arrest was made in this incident. 

Investigations are ongoing.

Police on the Island of Exuma are investigating a boating accident which left one person dead and several others injured, Saturday, 30th June, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 9:00am, a 40’ chartered tour boat was traveling in waters just off Barraterre, Exuma, with ten (10) tourists and two (2) Bahamians on board, when an engine exploded causing the boat to catch afire. Ten persons on board the boat were injured and transported to the mini hospital in George Town...
