Police in Inagua probe alleged drowning death of a male - Feb 18, 2017 - 2:32:09 PM

POLICE in Inagua are investigating the circumstances surrounding the apparent drowning death of an adult male that occurred on Friday 17th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00noon, a man was on a fishing trip with three other males in waters off Inagua, when he lost consciousness while diving in the water. The victim was transported to shore and taken to the local where he was pronounced dead...

Two arrested in Eleuthera for drug possession - Feb 11, 2017 - 7:19:49 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Police in Eleuthera took three males into custody in in separate incidents for possession of dangerous drugs.

In the first incident around 8:00pm on Thursday 9th February 2017, officers in Eleuthera were on routine patrol in Rock Sound, when they intercepted a blue vehicle with two males. The vehicle was subsequently searched and a quantity of marijuana was found...

Traffic fatality in Abaco, pedestrian struck in Dundas Town - Jan 27, 2017 - 3:02:44 PM

Police in Abaco are investigating a traffic accident that has left a male dead.

Reports are that on Thursday 26th January 2017 shortly before 10:00pm, a male was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle on Forest Drive, Dundas Town, Abaco. EMS personnel were called to the scene and transported the victim to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was pronounced dead by doctor. Police are actively investigating this matter.

Eleuthera police arrest female after stabbing and robbery incident - Jan 25, 2017 - 8:22:23 PM

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police in Eleuthera took an adult female into custody following an armed robbery on Tuesday 25th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 11:00am, a woman was driving her vehicle in Palmetto Point, when she picked up an adult female who asked for a ride to Savannah Sound. Upon arrival in Savannah Sound the female passenger stabbed the woman with a knife and demanded cash. The victim handed over her handbag and was stabbed again. The suspect then took a small amount of cash from the handbag and fled on foot...

Motorcyclist dies following crash in Andros - Jan 24, 2017 - 10:16:56 AM

Police in Andros are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following a motorcycle accident that occurred on Monday 23rd January 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00pm, a man was riding his Honda motorcycle at the junction of Lowe Sound and Morgan’s Bluff, when he lost control and crashed into a tree. The man succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Honduran man dies after industrial accident in Abaco - Jan 18, 2017 - 11:12:15 AM

Police in Abaco are investigating the death of a Honduran male on board a vessel docked at the Marsh Harbour Government Dock.

Reports are that on Tuesday 17th January 2017, shortly before 2:00pm, the male worker reportedly sustained fatal injuries on board the vessel when a metal pallet broke loose and fell on the decease. He was taken to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was pronounced dead by doctor.

Police in Eleuthera, Bahamas are seeking the public’s help in locating 21 – year old Alexander Michael Medon of Governors Harbour, Eleuthera.

He is wanted for questioning reference to a number of Shop Breakings on that Island.

Medon is a light brown male, slim build about 5’ 9” tall.

Armed robbery in Abaco on Don McKay Blvd - Jan 13, 2017 - 10:37:50 AM

Police in Abaco are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday 12th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 8:00pm, a male while in the area of a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd was held up at gun point by two mask males, one of whom was brandishing a firearm. He was robbed of his licensed .22 Winchester rifle and cell phone. Both males made good their escape.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities, Police in Eleuthera took a man and woman into custody following the seizure of an illegal handgun along with a quantity of dangerous drugs on Thursday 5th January 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00pm, Police were on routine patrol in Spanish Wells, when then saw a man in a restaurant who aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the man and found a pistol with 3 live rounds of ammunition along with a small quantity of cocaine...

Illegal immigrants arrested in Bimini - Dec 20, 2016 - 11:47:16 AM


A team of Law Enforcement Officers arrest (16) Illegal Immigrants on the island of Bimini.

Reports are that shortly after 6:00pm on Monday 19th December 2016, Law Enforcement Officers inclusive of Police Officers, Defense Force Officers and Immigration Officers, acting on information went to a business establishment situated on Kings Highway, Alice Town, Bimini and discovered (15) Illegal Immigrants; (8) Chinese and (7) Ecuadorian Nationals. They were all arrested and taken into custody.

Stabbing in Abaco, man airlifted to Nassau - Dec 17, 2016 - 10:00:28 AM

Police in Abaco are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a male hospitalized in serious condition.

Reports are that on Friday 16th December 2016, shortly after 2:00pm, police were called to a business establishment on Don McKay Blvd, where two males were involved in an altercation that resulted in one of the males being stabbed about the body. The victim was taken to the Marsh Harbour Government Clinic where he was seen by doctor and is listed in serious condition. He was airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention.

Man dies in Eleuthera traffic accident, three others in hospital - Dec 8, 2016 - 12:39:17 PM

Police in Eleuthera, Bahamas are investigating the circumstances surrounding a traffic accident that have left a man dead and three other men detained in hospital on Wednesday 7th December 2016.

According to reports, around 10:30pm, a man was driving Honda Civic vehicle along a road in the Current, Eleuthera, accompanied three male passengers, when he lost control and veered several feet into the bushes, where the vehicle crashed. One of the male passengers was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver along with the other two males were taken to the local clinic and later airlifted to New Providence, where they were admitted to hospital in stable condition.

Body found after house fire in North Eleuthera - Nov 24, 2016 - 5:50:35 PM

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body burned beyond recognition found in a house following fire on Thursday 24th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00am, Police in Eleuthera received a report of a building fire in Current, North Eleuthera. When responding officers arrived on the scene they met a two storey home engulf in flames. Despite the courageous efforts by the police and community volunteers the fire destroyed three adjacent homes. When the fire was extinguished, the officers while conducting a search of one of the homes found the body of a human being burnt beyond recognition. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cost of death.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, excellent “text book’ police work by officers in Eleuthera has led to the arrest of an adult male and the seizure of a quantity of drugs and cash on Saturday 5th November 2016.

Reports are that around 2:30pm, Police in Harbour Island while conducting an operation on Colebrooke Street arrested an adult male after they found seven (7) pounds of marijuana and a quantity of cocaine in his possession. Officers also seized just over eleven (11) thousand dollars in cash from the male, suspected to be the proceeds of crime...

Eleuthera, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, Police in Harbour Island took into custody an adult male after they seized a quantity of marijuana on Friday 4th November 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 3:30pm, officers in Harbour Island were on routine patrol, when they observed a man sitting under a tent acting suspiciously. The man on seeing the officers fled on foot. The officers gave chase and caught the man after a short foot chase.

Police in Abaco took two males into custody following a shooting incident on that island that left a man dead on Sunday 23rd October 2016. 

Reports are that shortly before 4:00am, a man was involved in an argument with another man near a nightclub off S. C. Bootle Highway, Murphy Town that led to him being fatally shot with a shotgun. The victim was transported to the local clinic where he was pronounced dead.

ABACO, Bahamas - Police in Abaco are investigating a house fire and the discovery of the charred remains of a young child.

Reports are that on Tuesday 18th October 2016 shortly after 9:00pm, police along with the Marsh Harbour Fire Services were called to a house fire, in the Mudd, Abaco. A single story wooden structure was discovered ablaze. Officers quickly extinguished the fire and upon examining the building discovered the burnt remains of a child. The body was examined by doctor at the scene and pronounced dead...

Quick action by Police in Eleuthera have led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of a firearm and stolen items following an armed robbery that occurred on that island Tuesday 18th October 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00am, a man was asleep at his home located in Harbour Island, when two males armed with a shotgun and toy gun forced their way into his home and demanded cash. The males robbed the man of cash, a cell phone, jewelry and beat him about the body before fleeing on foot.
