Abaco police uncover shotgun in bushes - May 20, 2012 - 12:57:29 PM
ABACO, Bahamas - Officers at Abaco uncovered a shotgun in bushes near the Ernest Dean Highway. Initial reports indicate that around 4:30 pm on Saturday 19th May, 2012 officers at Abaco acting on information went to the area where they discovered the weapon.
No one arrest was made. Active police investigations continue.

Illegal Immigrants apprehended in Mayaguana - May 19, 2012 - 4:11:31 AM
Officers at Mayaguana took into custody fourteen (14) undocumented
Haitian nationals. The group which consisted of twelve (12) men and two
(2) women were apprehended in two (2) separate locations at Abrahams
Bay, Mayaguana. Five (5) immigrants were arrested around 11:35 pm on
Friday 18th May, 2012 in the
area of Paradise Villas and the remainder around 10:00 am on Saturday 19th May, 2012 in bushes near the Airport.

Florida man allegedly drowns while snorkeling in Abaco - May 18, 2012 - 11:26:00 AM
A 56 year old male of Jupiter Florida, reportedly drowned while snorkeling at Spanish Cay, Abaco. The incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 pm on Thursday 17th May, 2012. Initial reports indicate that the victim was snorkeling with family members when he complained of being fatigued.
The family attempted to rescue the man, but due to the strong currents was unsuccessful.
Police along with local residents conducted a search of the area for
the man, but did not locate him. Active police investigations continue.

Inagua Police Arrest Illegal Immigrants - Apr 11, 2012 - 9:47:56 PM
Inagua, Bahamas - Police along with Immigration Officers at Inagua have taken twelve (12) Indian males into custody.
According
to police reports around 5:00 pm on Wednesday 11th April, 2012 officers
acting on information arrested the males at Victoria & Taylor
Street, Inagua. The males ages range from 17 years to 35 years.
Investigations continue.

BREAKING NEWS: 4 Dead after Plane Crash in Treasure Cay, Bahamas - Mar 25, 2012 - 6:11:15 PM
ABACO, BAHAMAS - Four
(4) people, two males and two (2) females, died after a private single
engine Piper six seat aircraft, crashed.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:33 pm on Sunday 25th March, 2012.
Preliminary
reports indicate that shortly after take-off enroute to Fort Pierce,
Florida the plane crashed into nearby bushes. All victims are believed
to be Americans from South Florida. Police along with Firefighters and
Civil Aviation officials are presently on scene conducting their
investigations. Active investigations continue...

Abaco Island, Bahamas - Police wish to notify the public that ANGELO SAWYER aka “CRIME BOSS” is in police custody.
The 39 year old was arrested around 6:00 pm on Sunday 01st January, 2012 on Bay Street, Dundas Town, Abaco.
On
Tuesday 20th December, 2011 police at Abaco issued a Wanted Bulletin
for the resident of DUNDAS TOWN, ABACO for questioning reference to
stolen vessel,shop breaking and possession of unlicensed firearm.

Eleuthera police investigate death of male - Dec 28, 2011 - 7:36:29 PM
Initial police reports indicate that around 7:00 am on Wednesday 28th
December, 2011 a 52 year old male of Windermere Eleuthera, formerly of
Vero Beach, Florida was found unresponsive outside his residence at
Eleuthera by a relative.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the local doctor. Active police investigations continue.

Police at Abaco would like to inform that 26 year old CHRISTOPER THOMPSON of TREASURE CAY, NORTH ABACO is in police custody.
The
suspect was arrested around 2:00 pm on Wednesday 28th December, 2011
after turning himself into the Marsh Harbour Police Station accompanied
by his attorney.On Tuesday 27th December, 2011 police at Abaco issued a
Wanted Bulletin for the suspect reference to stolen vessel and human

Bahamas - Police are
requesting the public’s assistance in locating Angelo Sawyer, aka "Crime
Boss". Suspect is wanted for questioning by Abaco police for house
breaking, stolen vessel, shop breaking, and possession of a firearm. If
seen please do not approach, as suspect may be armed.
Sawyer is a
39 year old, 140 lbs. Occupation of a carpenter from Dundas Town,
Central Abaco. He has brown eyes, black hair and is of average build.

Abaco Police investigate traffic Fatality - Dec 18, 2011 - 9:41:18 AM
Abaco Island, Bahamas -
Police at Abaco are investigating a traffic accident that has left a 20
year old man of dead. The incident reportedly occurred shortly after
3:00 am on Sunday 18th December, 2011. According to police reports the
deceased was driving a red Nissan Tida vehicle north along Don Mckay
Boulevard, when he lost control and collided into a wall. The victim was
ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by the local
doctor. Active police investigations continue.
