The Bahamas Weekly News Team brings you an exclusive video interview with famous football (soccer) player and coach, Luther Blissett taken June 28th at the beautiful Pelican Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.
Here Blissett speaks about moving to England at the age of five, and about his football career. He also talks about his second love - car racing, and speaks about his upcoming activities with Team 48 - a car racing team promoting Afro-Caribbean racers. He is one of the drivers.
Blissett was on Grand Bahama Island for his fourth visit to coach at the Premier League Grand Bahama Summer Soccer Camp.

The Bahamas Weekly News team brings an exclusive video interview with international actor Jaymes Butler who is presently in Grand Bahama for his role as "Smoke" on the German film production, Der Seewolf (The Sea Wolf).
Butler lives between the USA and Germany, and is possibly the only American actor working in film and TV in Germany. He has Bahamian roots and owns property in Cat Island, where his Butler family side originates from.
In this interview Jaymes Butler talks about his role in Der Seewolf, and mentions the many films he has been involved in. He also talks about his acting career, and how an actor has to stay in the mainstream to keep their career going. From Seewolf, which wraps shortly in The Bahamas but continues back in the studios in Germany, Jaymes will go on to a role in the next James Bond film...

NASSAU, Bahamas, May 28 /CNW/ - Stop a Bahamian on the street to ask them about snowboarding, and you may get a number of funny looks, but that is all about to change. At a beachside reception, escorted by a Junkanoo band, and joined by hundreds of Bahamian supporters, Korath Wright officially announced that he is ready to become the first-ever Winter Olympian from the Bahamas.
Wright was joined by friends, family, members of government and the Bahamas Olympic Association for this historic event. All attendees also signed the snowboard emblazoned with the Bahamian flag, as a show of support for Wright's journey. He plans to use this board at his first competition on the path to Olympic qualifications in New Zealand in mid-April.

Grand Bahama Island - On location at the Freeport Football Rugby Camp, the Premier League once again makes this summer camp possible for almost two hundred children. The camp caters to boys and girls ages six to sixteen years. Many local coaches assist with the program, which runs from Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm.
