Associate Press - NASSAU, Bahamas — The Bahamas lawmaker who prompted a mistrial in the John Travolta extortion case has publicly apologized to the judge and the people of the island chain.

Picewell Forbes says his announcement of an acquittal while the jury was still deliberating last week were "reckless" and "not true."

But he isn't saying where he heard the report that he repeated in a televised speech at a political convention.

Forbes' attorney Anthony McKinney said Tuesday his client cannot comment further because the matter is still before the court..

“Voices” a documentary by Bahamian filmmaker Jeffrey Poitier,  nephew of the famous Bahamian actor, Sir Sidney Poitier, premiered at the AMC Theater in the beautiful CocoWalk at Coconut Grove in October, 2008. The film  documents the earliest untold stories of the Bahamian and African-American people who were the original settlers and builders of Coconut Grove in Florida.

Ralph Munnings best known for his amazing musical talent on The saxophone, flute and clarinet speaks on his passion for music and his background as a longtime musician having been inspired by his uncle The late Freddie Munnings.
