The Bahamas Weekly News team contacted and interviewed snowboarder, twenty-two year old Korath Wright, who is presently visiting Nassau to promote and solidify his upcoming representation of his birth country, The Bahamas at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. This is a historic first for The Bahamas.

In this phone interview Korath shares how he got into snowboarding, how he was contacted to represent The Bahamas, and his plans over the next couple years prior to 2010.

Korath Wright moved to Canada with his mother when he was 1 year old. He was contacted two years ago by The Bahamas High Commission, after coming third place in a World Cup event, and was asked to represent his country. Word traveled to The Bahamas and he was reconnected to his father, Ethric Bowe on Christmas Eve via a phone call from Bowe. Korath returned to The Bahamas for the first time in late 2007.

Korath coaches at a snowboarding camp each summer at Mount Hood, Oregon. He hopes to get some Bahamian children involved in snowboarding.

According to his coaches, Wright is considered one of Canada's Top Ten snowboarders.

Korath will be attending the World Cup event in New Zealand in August 2008.

This interview was recorded in May 2008.
