Premier League Soccer Camp Stars of 2008 -

Grand Bahama Island - Almost 200 children enjoyed five days of soccer fun at the Freeport Football Rugby Club from June 23rd to 27th for the 5th Annual English Premier League Soccer Camp. It was the best attendance to date, and despite the 90 degree heat with no rain all week, the kids kept their level of enthusiam up throughout the week.
Visiting UK coaches, Philip French, Luther Blissett and Jamie Godbold were amazed at the attitudes of the local children and thoroughly enjoyed the camp themselves.
Enclosed are photos of the 'Stars of the Week' - those children that rose above the rest in attitude, sportsmanship, discipline, and performance...

Bahamas Baseball Federation announces National Team -

The Bahamas Baseball Federation will be sending a NATIONAL TEAM to compete in the PONY “COLT” Caribbean Zone Championship from Monday June 30th thru Sunday July 6th 2008 in Guarbo, Puerto Rico.
Winner of the Tournament will advance to the PONY World Series in Lafitte, Indiana.
Team manager is Terran Rodgers, and Coaches are, Theodore Sweeting and Ricardo Hall. Also traveling with the team will be BBF President, Craig Kemp.

Nassau, Bahamas - We have been advised by Mr. Mario Vazquez Rana, President of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO), President of the Association of National Olympic Committees and International Olympic Committee Executive; that an Assembly to elect the new Executive for the Bahamas Olympic Association, will be held on Thursday 8th May 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Nassau Yacht Club.

National rounds have already begun in over 40 different countries
– including soccer hotspots such as Brazil, Argentina and Germany –
as athletes from all over the world battle for their qualification in the Red Bull Street Style World Final! Do you have what it takes to represent The Bahamas?
Locally the format of the contest is a “battle” of two players who square off in a one-on-one duel against each other. Athletes take alternating 20-second turns with the ball, using their time to show off the best of their artistic moves to the sounds of Hip Hop, Reggae and of course our own Rake n Scrape beats...
