Pan Caribbean Soccer League Informational Meeting, Feb 25th, 2014
- Feb 6, 2014 - 8:00:57 AM
The winds of regional
integration are blowing among the Caribbean nations. The idea of greater
regional integration in the Caribbean is a topic that has been gaining
more attention in the news and at the political level within the
Caribbean region. In line with this, there has been renewed interest in
the creation of a Pan-Caribbean Soccer League. This year not one
Caribbean nation will be representing the region in the 2014 FIFA World
Cup™, a fact that has caused consternation among many in the region.
Caribbean Football Trust Limited (CFTL) , a Barbados registered company
with offices in Orlando, Florida and Toronto, Canada, is currently
working to remedy this situation for future tournaments by establishing a
new professional soccer league that will span the entire Caribbean
region. As such, the CFTL is collaborating with Concorde Sports Agency

- Jan 24, 2014 - 1:55:47 PM
Prior to 1983 the
Olympic Games was Athletics’ championships. A plan was set afoot to
change this when under the presidency of the IAAF’s Adrian Paulen of the
Netherlands the IAAF World Athletics Cup was held in Dusseldorf,
Germany in 1977.
The World Cup consisted of teams from the
world’s great powerhouses of athletics, at that time teams like the USA,
Great Britain, East and West Germany, and the Soviet Union, plus The
Americas (without the USA), Europe (without the powerhouses), Africa,
Asia, South America, Oceania, etc.
That World Cup is now the Continental Cup.
