advancing in Boys Doubles in the 55TH Coffee Bowl in Costa Rica.
Jacobi Bain (BAH) and partner Marko Andrejic (AUT) defeated Alfredo
Casso and Jackson Ross (both from the USA) 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 to advance to
the Round of 16 on Wednesday.

Padraig Harrington named 2020 European Ryder Cup captain

Padraig Harrington has been named as the European Captain
for The 2020 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin from September
25 – 27, 2020.
The three-time Major Champion has a storied Ryder
Cup career, having represented Europe six times as a player – including
being part of four triumphs – while latterly he has brought his
extensive experience to the role of Vice-Captain in the past three
editions of the biennial contest.
The 47 year old joins Paul
McGinley (2014) and Darren Clarke (2016), as professionals from the
island of Ireland to lead Europe and will be hoping to emulate the last
European triumph on American soil – at Medinah in 2012...

Pinder’s Brokerage to run in Komen Bahamas in memory of company matriarch

It’s been just a little over two months since Helen Pinder, the
matriarch of Pinder’s Customs Brokerage Ltd., lost her battle with
breast cancer. Now, more than half of the staff at her company, along
with their family members, will take part in a local cancer run this
month in her memory – continuing a tradition she started five years ago.

in George Town, Exuma. The Cameron Williams Cup Race was the only race

The Grand Bahama American Women’s Club’s 16th annual golf tournament
launches Feb. 23., 2019 at the Reef Course in Freeport. The fundraiser,
which has generated over $100,000 for high school scholarships in recent
years, draws dozens of golfers from on and off the island.

A retired mother of eight who took up running after her marriage ended
is gearing up to participate in Marathon Bahamas in January.
