FIFA: Independent Ethics Committee Bans Lionel Haven

- The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee, chaired
by Mr Hans Joachim Eckert, has banned Mr Lionel Haven from all
football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at
both national and international level.
The investigations against
Mr Haven, a former member of the Executive Committee of the Caribbean
Football Union (CFU), concerned his non-disclosure of information
related to cash payments at an event held by the CFU in May 2011. The
investigations were conducted by Dr Cornel Borbély, the chairman of the
investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee...

in freediving at the ninth annual Vertical Blue Freediving Competition
held at Dean’s Blue Hole in Long Island last week.

Women's Basketball Association Junior League have found an early fan in
the Consolidate Water (Bahamas) Ltd. (CWCO). CWCO came on board as a

Sunland students get full basketball scholarships to attend college

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Sunland Baptist Academy Stingers basketball players
officially sign full scholarship Letters to attend college this coming fall.
Senior, Tyler Davis, Romero Cornish and Daniel Wright will be
attending Eastern Wyoming College in August. All three of these players
hail from Abaco, Bahamas. They attended Sunland for the past 2 years and
helped Sunland to secure back to back consecutive High School
Championships. Senior Guard Kaleel Solomon signed his letter of intent
today to attend Eastern Florida State College. Kaleel also serves as the
Head Boy of Sunland Baptist Academy and was also named High School
Player of The Year...
Manta Rays Youth Soccer Club Seals Three Division Titles

In the recent Bahamas Development Soccer League’s Knock Out Cups,
Domino’s sponsored Manta Rays Soccer Club dominated the competition.
Overall, the group won titles in three divisions and made it to the semi
final rounds in another two divisions.
Manta Rays players secured the title in the under 6 category, defeating
the Pirates in a close 1-0 victory. The under 14 boys edged out Lyford
Cay for the win and the club’s under 12 girls also won overall in their
Bahamas Ministry of Sports on the passing of Natasha Newbold

friends of the late Natasha Newbold.
It is with sincere sadness to have learned of the passing of Natasha
Newbold, one of out great pioneering women in sports and perhaps the
greatest female power lifter known to The Bahamas.
Natasha was a fierce athlete, and fearless when it came to her
competitors in sport...

Consolidated Water Co. supports SWIFT Athletics

Nassau, Bahamas - As the young athletes of SWIFT Athletics
prepare to compete against hundreds of other clubs at the Amateur Athletic
Union (AAU) Annual Club Championships in Kissimmee, Florida this July they are
getting a boost from ongoing sponsor Consolidated Water (Bahamas) Ltd. (CWCO). CWCO has been sponsoring the club, which
focuses on inner-city youth, for 5 years now.
“We have approximately 60 kids in the
club, mostly recruited from Urban Renewal,” explained Donna Petty, Swift

Twenty-something soccer supercoach Chloe Brown has packed more into her
short sports life than most people do in an entire lifetime – and in the
process has become an inspiring role model to young players making
their way in the sport.
Her list of achievements is very lengthy
with coaching experience ranging from working with 3-year-olds at one
end of the scale to being head coach of a semi-professional adult men’s
