Los Angeles, California, USA - In an event with 6,500 athletes and
2,000 coaches representing 165 countries, our Bahamian athletes are
doing a great job at representing our country!
Update as of Friday night , July 31st: It
seems like GOLD was the preferred colour of the day for Team Bahamas
and to top it all off, the athletes got to share their joy with a very
special visitor, as former US ambassador to The Bahamas, Nicole Avant
made a special call at the USC campus to spend some time and share in
the joy of athletes and other delegation members from Team Bahamas.

Bahamas' Donald Thomas won a bronze in the men's high jump Saturday evening at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, Canada.
Thomas finished with a 2.28 behind two Canadians, Mike Mason with 2.31 and Derek Drouin with 2.37, a season's best.

legend Michael Thompson and his son, current NBA champion Klay Thompson, the
Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Minister of Tourism Obie
Wilchcombe, a variety of Bahamian executives, and spectators were present to
see the unveiling of a custom portrait created by world renowned Bahamian artist Jamaal Rolle aka “The Celebrity Artist."
At the reception, the unveiling of the portrait
was introduced by the Prime Minister Perry G Christie who humorously said to Klay Thompson,
“Boy I wish I look like you,” sparking laughter from Thompson and those gathered.

most celebrated event in The Bahamas and this past weekend, Grand
Bahama was the place to be as hundreds came to Taino Beach for the Grand

Bahamas has participated internationally at such a high level in the

Jeffery Gibson takes Pan Am gold in men's 400m hurdles

Toronto, Canada -- The Bahamas' Jeffery Gibson claimed a gold medal
in the men's 400m hurdles at the Pan Am Games on July 23rd, and in doing
so broke his own nation record in the process. Gibson joins Arianna
Vanderpool-Wallace who is the only other gold medalist at the games at
this time. This makes the third medal for the country.
Taking the silver was Puerto Rico's Javier Culson with 48.67, and bronze went to Jamaica's Roxroy Cato with 48.72.

TORONTO - On Friday, July 17th, and just three days after taking bronze in the 100 m freestyle

short-listed as a finalist in the “Best Play” category at The 2015 ESPYs
