The Grand Bahama Tennis Association(GBTA) Junior National Tournament was held this weekend in Freeport, Grand Bahama at the YMCA. The event sponsor was Bahamas Pure Water & Ice.

The event was sanctioned by The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association and is the first junior national calendar event held in Grand Bahama for 2020. President Darnette Weir of the BLTA was on hand at the Tournament Draw along with the President of the GBTA, Natishka Barrett and tournament directors Danny Rigby and MacArthur Rigby...

Justin Roberts is making his presence felt on the ITF World Tennis Tour Circuit. This week Justin teamed up with Antiguan Jody Magilney for doubles at the M15 in Cancun Mexico. The dynamic duo has already had a successful combination last year as doubles champions on the procircuit.

In this position she faces the #1 ranked girls on the opposing teams On Saturday Feb 15th the Warriors took on the No. 23-ranked Cumberland University. Abigail lost in #1 singles 3-6,1-6 against Garrida. The second flight doubles of Abigail and partner Fabbrice was victorious 6-3. .l This win by Abigail and the Warriors was key to the upset win over Cumberland.

The Bahamas recorded a good win today at the Junior Fed Cup in El Salvador. The team consists of Peyton Anderson, Kinza Johnson and Kaylee Kanuka. The Team is coached by Chelsi Russell.

Kaylee Kanuka playing as the #2 won in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.

Participating in the M15 at the Cancun Tennis Academy in Cancun, Mexico is Bahamian Justin Roberts.

In the R1(round of 1)Justin played Alexander Sarkissian winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Justin was able to close out quickly and will face Juan Alejandro Serrano from Mexico in R2.

Justin had a great 2019 season. He won doubles and a singles pro circuit championship titles in 2019...

Kudos go out to the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) for a great showing at The 11th Annual Sunshine Insurance Marathon Bahamas (Race Weekend) race on Sunday January 19th, 2020.

The RBDF had a total of 2 relay teams and 3 individual half-marathon runners in the competition. Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl recently held a Youth Football Clinic at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium at which Bahamian youth were coached by Buffalo Bulls and Charlotte 49ers teams.  The teams arrived Monday to kick off the sixth year of the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl.  Kickoff takes place today at the National Stadium.  Officials of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation will attend the event, televised in the United States on ESPN.
