TORONTO, Canada –  Indy Sportz Film Fest Experience (ISFFE), a non-profit event, launches in April with sports celebrities, international films and community outreach. The ISFFE takes place on Friday April 24, 2015 from 4 pm to 8 pm (Fan Experience, Alexandra Park Community Centre) and Saturday April 25, 2015 from 11 am to 11 pm (Screenings, Jackman Hall Theatre Art Gallery of Ontario).

Nassau, Bahamas - After sitting in the stands at the new Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium with an injury at the inaugural IAAF World Relays last year, sprinter Warren Fraser is eager to come home and help the Bahamas improve on its performance as this year's meet next month.

Fraser, now training in Tallahassee, Florida, is slowly making his transition from a 2013 graduate of Clemson University to a full-time professional athlete.

Freeport, The Bahamas - On May 2, 2015 runners, joggers, walkers and dogs will take to the roads in Grand Bahamas’ for the First Dog Days Half Marathon Run, 5k and One Mile Fun Run/Walk. Participants of all ages and even four legged friends are encouraged to participate in this fun filled day. NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Relays Bahamas 2015 announced the first five companies to assist with the second edition of the World Relays during a press conference March 24 at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.

With 39 days before the world relays to be held May 2 & 3, Mike Sands, chief executive officer and vice-chairman of the (LOC) named Caribbean Bottling Company (Coca-Cola) and Atlantic Medical as returning national partners, and Commonwealth Brewery Limited and Bahamas Waste as returning national suppliers with the National Sports Authority (NSA) joining at the national supplier level.

Nassau, Bahamas - Weeks of preparation have come to a conclusion, and with only 9 days before the team departs for El Salvador for the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship, March 28 – April 4, 2015. The Bahamas Football Association confirms the names of the players who will represent the country. Under the direction of Head Coach Roberto Ceciliano and Assistant Coaches Stephen Bellot and Julian Smith.

The team has been in training for several with intensive training sessions conducted on weekend by the coaching staff. According to Roberto,” the team is well prepared and we expect to advance to the final round.”

Nassau, Bahamas – The Bahamas’ mens national rugby team took on the national team from Bermuda this Saturday at the Winton Rugby Ground in Nassau. It was an epis battle played between the two teams that had polar opposite game plans. The “Bahamazing” experience for the international guests coming to these shores for the second International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) World Relay Championships, actually starts with their arrival at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in early May, and carries straight through until their departure.

D’Anne L. Barrett, the Senior Director of Logistics for the IAAF World Relays Bahamas 2015, said that her department is looking forward to a smoother process this year having gone through it a year ago. The star power of the gymnasts of Bahamas Star Gymnastics (BSG), sponsored by Bahamas Gymnastics Parent Booster Club, mingled with Bahamian pride boosted the team to a treasure-trove of medals, most of which were first place medals. The twelve member team competed in Lake Mary, Florida over the past weekend at the 2015 Leprechaun Classic which promoted an Irish St. Patrick’s Day theme.

Three petite and dainty gymnasts sparked the trend of first place individual and All-Around finishes. In the first session, Rhianna Smith in her age division, sprinted and completed handstands for first place on Vault each scoring 9.20 (of 10). Freeport, The Bahamas - Tabernacle Baptist's 4x1 senior boys relay team set a new national record at the recent National High School Track and Field Championships in Nassau. As a result of their success, Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville and Mike Sands, president of the Bahamas Amateur Athletic Association, were on hand on Monday to present the winners with a cheque for $5,000 on behalf of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.

ALICE TOWN, BIMINI, The Bahamas  -  While 68 Men’s Division I teams compete for the NCAA title this month in a coast-to-coast tournament known as March Madness, legendary college coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Bob Knight will be chasing grey ghosts off the Bimini flats with former Ohio State teammate John Havlicek and top-notch angler Stu Apte courtesy of the Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marine and Horizon Hotel Group.

It was the Bob Knight led Indiana Hoosiers squad in 1976 that finished the season undefeated with an NCAA Men Division I basketball championship—the last team to accomplish the feat some 39 years ago. PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - Richard "Torpedo" Thompson was responsible for one of the most memorable moments at the inaugural IAAF World Relays, in Nassau, Bahamas, last year. In the men's 4x100 metres final, the Trinidad and Tobago track star overhauled Great Britain's Dwain Chambers on the anchor leg, turning bronze into silver.

Freeport, The Bahamas - The Grand Bahama Girls' Soccer League current season began in September 2014 and culminated on February 28th, 2015.
The league caters to girls ages 5 - 16 years and through volunteer coaches and refs, and enthusiastic parents skills training and games took place every Saturday at the Freeport Rugby Football Club.

A new older league has been launched with approximately 60 players with 4 squads representing Chelsea, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and Real Madrid, and with all players wearing authentic club kit. The players range in ages from twelve years to the mid-twenties...

Nassau, Bahamas - Some 100 International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) World Relays 2015 volunteers gathered recently for a "milestone" event in the build-up to the international event– their first orientation and training event.

MIAMI (AP) — Just eight months after the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil, the Bahamas will play Bermuda in March in one of seven pairings as qualifying starts for the 2018 tournament in Russia.

The governing body for North and Central America and the Caribbean held the first draw Thursday night. The other first-round pairings are Barbados-U.S. Virgin Islands; Belize-Cayman Islands; British Virgin Islands-Dominica; Curacao-Montserrat; Turks and Caicos Islands-St. Kitts and Nevis; and Nicaragua-Anguilla.

“Promises are easy to make and hard to deliver” but Pete Deveaux easily delivered on a promise made to the “Sensational Six” gymnasts from Bahamas Star Gymnastics who competed at the Gymnastics Around the World competition hosted last October in Jacksonville, Florida. Deveaux, owner of The Island Game, was on hand at the event to support his daughter Madisson, a Level 4 gymnast, and her teammates.

After witnessing the brilliant performance of the “Sensational Six”, Deveaux delivered his promise, “improve at your next meet and I will pay you $100 for each score on each apparatus and the All Around score”. Grand Bahama has a lot to be proud of with the skyrocketing progress of Jonquel Jones! The 21 year old George Washington’s 6-foot-4 junior post player was just named by Atlantic 10 coaches, the league’s Player of the Year and its Defensive Player of the Year.

On the school's website, her coach wrote, “It’s a great honour that Jonquel was recognised as Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year because of the impact that she has on both ends of the court.  I’m incredibly proud of her."

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- HRH Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, a leading figure from FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), the governing body for world soccer attended the launch of the new Grand Bahama women’s champions league on Sunday, March 1st held at the Freeport Football Rugby Club.
