NEWS ITEM ON ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6 AM MONDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2021.

...NICHOLAS FORECAST TO CAUSE FLASH FLOODING, DANGEROUS STORM SURGE AND GUSTY WINDS LATER TODAY...

 AT 5 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM NICHOLASWAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 25.5°NORTHAND LONGITUDE 96.6° WEST OR ABOUT 45 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MOUTH OF THE RIO GRANDE OR 200 MILES SOUTH OF PORT OCONNOR TEXAS.

NICHOLAS IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST AT 14 MPH.  

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 60 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

THE NEXT NEWS ITEM WILL BE ISSUED AT 12PM.
