Marco Smith age 32 years of Hanna Hill, Eight Mile Rock was arraigned on Tuesday 28th May 2019 before Magistrate Gwendolyn Claude in the Eight Mile Rock, Magistrate Court, on Attempted Murder charge. He was not required to enter a plea, a preliminary enquiry will commence on the 7th September 2019. This matter is expected to proceed by Voluntary Bill of Indictment. He was denied bail in the Magistrate Court and was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial...

Reports are that on Monday 27th May 2019, shortly after 11:00am, an American male along with family members onboard a vessel, were out snorkeling in waters near Peterson Cay, when the victim reportedly began having difficulties. He was assisted by family and crew members back into the vessel and transported to Grand Bahama where he was seen by EMS personnel and later pronounced dead by doctor at the Rand Memorial Hospital...

Reports are that on Saturday 25th May 2019 shortly after 1:00pm, police were called to Andros Drive, Hawksbill, where a male reported that while sitting in his vehicle, a male known to him and driving a light colored vehicle, fired a number of gunshots at him, hitting him to the chest area. EMS personnel were called to the scene and the victim was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was seen by doctor and is said to be listed in serious but stable condition...

Reports are that on Friday 24th May 2019 shortly after 11:00pm, officers of the Mobile Division, while on mobile patrol in the Pine Dale, Eight Mile Rock area, discovered a male with stab wounds to the body near a business establishment. Reports are that on Tuesday 14th May 2019 shortly after 9:00pm, police were called to Portacall Drive, Bahama Terrace near the canal, where they discovered a white truck submerged under water. Officers of the Police Marine Section with assistance from a private vessel and crew, hoisted the vehicle out of water and recovered the body of a lifeless male. 

Investigation will continue into this matter, and an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death...

They were not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to June 20th 2019 for a Preliminary Trial.

Bail was denied, and they were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial...

Reports are that on Sunday 24th March 2019 shortly after 6:00pm, officers of the Flying Squad while on patrol in the Eight Mile Rock area and acting on information, proceeded to a dirt road, off Praise the Lord Corner in Eight Mile Rock, where they discovered in an abandoned structure, a white crocus sack that contained 5lbs. of suspected marijuana. 

There were no arrest made and the matter is under police investigation...

Reports are that on Friday 22nd March 2019, shortly after 2:00pm, officers of the Flying Squad in Grand Bahama, acting on information, proceeded to Grays Avenue, Seagrape, Eight Mile Rock, where they uncovered in bushes, (5) plastic bags containing 12 lbs. of suspected marijuana, with a street value of $12,000.00 and a silver and black pistol containing (4) hollowed tip .380 ammunition.

There were no arrest made in this matter, investigation is continuing...
