Grand Bahama police investigate robbery in Port Lucaya area - Jul 23, 2018 - 2:42:49 PM

Reports are that on Monday 23rd July 2018 shortly after 10:00am, two culprits entered a business establishment in the Port Lucaya area, where they smashed and grabbed a quantity of jewelry value unknown. Both persons are described as being dressed in female attire at the time the incident occurred. 

Police in Grand Bahama are aggressively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for any assistance to call the Central Detective Unit at telephone # 350-3107 thru 12, 911/919 or call your nearest police station...

RBPF Grand Bahama: Boating Incident - Jul 21, 2018 - 12:00:06 PM

Reports are that on Friday 20th July 2018 shortly after 3:00pm, police were called to a marina in West End, where there was an incident involving an American owned vessel and a group of American visitors that were reportedly diving in the area. One of the male visitor received serious injuries where his left arm was severed. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Police are actively investigating this matter...

In the first incident, on Monday 16th July 2018, shortly after 2:00pm, Officers of the Rapid Response Unit, while in the area of Fawcett Lane, arrested a 23 year old male of Raleigh Drive, after he was found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.

In the second incident on the same date, shortly after 4:00pm, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information and while in the area of the Casuarina Bridge, in bushes near the canal, discovered three taped packages of suspected marijuana. No arrest was made in this matter.

The estimated weight is 18.5 lbs. and has a street...

In the first incident a male and female were arrested by officers of the Lucaya Division after they were found in possession of items that were stolen from a Resort on Princess Isle. Reports are that on Wednesday 11th July 2018 shortly after 10:00am, police received a stealing report at a local resort. Officers later arrested the suspects who were found in possession of all items.

Reports are that on Tuesday 12th June 2018 shortly after 10:00pm, officers of Rapid Response Unit, while armed with a search warrant, went to an apartment on Bass Lane where they discovered a black .380 pistol with a magazine containing six rounds of .380 ammunition. A 19 year old male was arrested and taken into police custody. He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court this afternoon...

Reports are that on Tuesday 12th June 2018, shortly before 3:00pm, officers of the Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama, while in the Lewis Yard area and acting on information, arrested a 37 year old male of Lewis Yard, after he was found in possession of a .45 pistol and magazine that contained seven live rounds of ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court this week.

Officers of Operation Clean Sweep, shortly after 12:00am on Saturday 9th June 2018, and armed with a search warrant, proceeded to a resident on Sunridge Road, where they discovered a black and chrome .357 revolver with (10) live rounds of .357 ammunition that was hidden in a 1996 Toyota Corolla vehicle parked at that residence. He was taken into police custody and is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Freeport early next week...

RBPF Grand Bahama: DEU Officer uncover illegal firearm and ammunition - May 22, 2018 - 7:15:38 AM

Reports are that on Sunday 20th May 2018, shortly after 10:00pm, Officer of the Drug Enforcement Unit, while in the area of the Murchison Drive, in a private vehicle, observed a male acting suspicious near a derelict vehicle. The officer then proceeded to the area, and discover a .45 pistol with a magazine containing (7) .45 ammunition. The unknown male made good his escape on foot.

Investigation is continuing in this matter...
