Reports are that on Saturday 15th September 2018, shortly before 6:00pm, police were called to a residence in Malibu Reef, where the body of an adult female was discovered hanging in a home. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Police are actively investigating this matter.

Travis Alexander Coakley aka “Justin Thompson” age 24 years of Exuma, was arraigned on Friday 14th September 2018, before Magistrate Renkin Johnson in Magistrate Court #3 in Freeport, Grand Bahama, on (42) counts of Fraud by False Pretenses. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and the matters were adjourned to the 3rd – 5th December 2018 and the 22nd - 24th January 2019 for trial. He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until trial...

Damargio Whymms age 24 years of #3 Flamingo Garden, New Providence, was arraigned before Magistrate Charlton Smith in Magistrate Court #2 on the charge of Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder. 

He was not required to enter a plea, due to the nature of the charges. Bail was denied and the matter was adjourned to Monday 17th December 2018. He was remanded to the Department of Correctional Services until trial...

Grand Bahama police discover illegal firearms and ammunition after foot chase - Sep 12, 2018 - 7:45:32 AM

Reports are that on Tuesday 11th September 2018, shortly before 10:00pm, officers of the Central Detective Unit while on mobile patrol in the area of Coral Road and Royal Palm Way, observed a male on a motorcycle acting suspicious. The male upon seeing the officers fled the scene, and was observed throwing an object into bushes. Officers gave chase but the suspect was able to make good his escape. Officers went back to the area where they discovered a bag containing (2) two pistols with (13) live rounds of 9mm ammunition...

Reports are that on Friday 7th September 2018, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit while on patrol in the area of Polaris Drive, stopped and searched a vehicle with a male occupant and discovered a substantial amount of monies totaling $47,367.00 in U.S currency, to which the occupant could not give a satisfactory account of how the monies came into his possession. The male suspect, who is from Freeport, Grand Bahama, was arrested and taken into police custody...

Reports are that on Wednesday 5th September 2018, between 4pm and 11pm, a joint operation named “Operation Black Out”, consisting of Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit and Rapid Response, took to the streets of the Central area, where a number of search warrants were executed at residences in that area. This resulted in the seizure of a 9mm pistol with (8) rounds of ammunition, (49) packages of suspected cocaine, cash in the amount of $1,699.00...

Reports are that on Saturday 25th August 2018 shortly after 6:00am, a male and female employee of a business establishment, while entering their place of employment on Coral Road, were held up and robbed at gunpoint by a lone male armed with a firearm, who robbed them of a deposit bag containing a quantity of money.

According to reports, on Wednesday 22nd August 2018, shortly after 1:00am, police from the Fire Department were called to a building fire in Pinedale, Eight Mile Rock, I-95 corner, where they met a single story wooden structure completely destroyed by fire. Officers upon checking the burnt ruins discovered the remains of a body. Officers of the Central Detective Unit are also involved in this investigation. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Investigation into this matter is continuing...

In the first incident on Friday 17th August 2018, shortly after 12:00pm, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with officers of the Central Detective Unit and Rapid Response, acting on information and armed with a search warrant, went to a residence on Hearne Lane where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. A male suspect who resides at that residence was arrested and taken into police custody.

In the second incident, shortly after 5:00pm on Friday 17th August 2018, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, while in the Coral Gardens area conducted a search of a dilapidated building, where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and forty .45 rounds of ammunition...

Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a shooting incident that has left a male hospitalized in critical condition. 

Reports are that on Saturday 4th August 2018 shortly after 9:00pm, a male was at a business establishment on Logwood Road and upon leaving the establishment and while entering his vehicle, he was approached by two armed assailants who reportedly shot him about the body. The victim was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital via EMS personnel where he is listed in critical condition...

Samuel Williams age 35 years of Hawksbill, Grand Bahama was arrested on Friday 27th July 2018 for Possession of Dangerous Drugs with the intent to Supply. He was arraigned before Magistrate Renkin Johnson in Magistrate Court #3 on Monday 30th July 2018, where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Service.

Reports are that on Monday 23rd July 2018 shortly after 10:00am, two culprits entered a business establishment in the Port Lucaya area, where they smashed and grabbed a quantity of jewelry value unknown. Both persons are described as being dressed in female attire at the time the incident occurred.

RBPF Grand Bahama: Boating Incident - Jul 21, 2018 - 12:00:06 PM

Reports are that on Friday 20th July 2018 shortly after 3:00pm, police were called to a marina in West End, where there was an incident involving an American owned vessel and a group of American visitors that were reportedly diving in the area. One of the male visitor received serious injuries where his left arm was severed. He was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital and is listed in serious condition.

Police are actively investigating this matter...
