RBPF Nassau: Police investigates alleged drowning - Stabbing incident

Police on New Providence are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged drowning, Sunday, 3rd May 2020. 

According to reports, shortly before 6:00pm, a twenty 23 year old male was attending a pool party at a residence on Sherman Drive off St. Alban’s Drive, when he was discovered unresponsive at the bottom of the pool. He was pulled from the pool and CPR rendered. A short time later, Paramedics transported him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.


Police on New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident Sunday, 3rd May, 2020, which has left an adult male detained in hospital.  

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, a man was walking on West Street, when he was approached by a male armed with a sharp object, who demanded cash and stabbed him to the chest before running away. The injured man was transported to hospital, where he is detained in serious but stable condition. 

Investigations are ongoing.
