THE GIFT - A photo of the two pieces sent to Michelle Obama. Chevette wrote the following along with this photo on her Facebook page, "Michelle Obama, your gift has been waiting patiently in my office for the right time! The right time is NOW! I Pray publicly for safe delivery of the gift! I also pray that you will Love, Wear and take a Selfie!"

A jewelry designer from a small island in The Bahamas is hoping to see her necklace worn by none other than the United States president's wife, Michelle Obama!

It's a tall order, and when The Bahamas Weekly asked the designer what sparked the notion, she responded, "For a very long time I have been dreaming of the day when I would see the United States First Lady, Michelle Obama wearing a necklace from my Chevette Williamson Jewelry line! I love standout unique jewelry and I realized from Mrs. Obamas photos that she embraces standout jewelry also."

The necklace is actually from the designer's 'Michelle Collection'. "I created the necklace I'm sending with her in mind," she said.  The necklace is made with a local shell and complimented with fresh water pearls. "I thought it would be nice to send her a clutch that compliments the necklace and the clutch is made with goat skin and sisal by my business partner Mary Lynn Major."

Making the necklace was the first step, but then Chevette had to figure out how to get it to the First Lady.

THE DESIGNER - Bahamian jewelry designer, Chevette Williams wearing one of her necklaces.

"I realized that my dream will not come to pass if I don't let the universe know what I wanted, so  I made a post with a photo of Mrs Obama wearing a Lovely stand out necklace. I also posted a photo of a display with my necklace in the show window of Coles of Nassau!"

Then, prayers were answered, as Chevette continues,"A friend of mine by the name of Rayette contacted me and said we have an opportunity to make your dream come true! Its amazing how God sends his angels to work with you. Rayette connected me with Devan the gentleman who will be responsible for making the delivery."

"Regardless of the huge obstacles Devan faced on Thursday June 10 to get to me at the scheduled time he was still determined to pick up the package!" said the designer. "Everyone has dreams and this is one of mine! I'm praying that this happens so I can share with the young adults I mentor that dreams do come true and to also encourage them to keep a great attitude because Gods angels are often people too!"

Although we do not know who this mystery man Devan is, or how he is going to complete such a mission, we can bade him well on his journey, in hopes that Mrs Obama will one day be wearing this exquisite piece! The Bahamas Weekly will be sure to update you if that happens!
