Nassau, Bahamas – The Red Dress Soiree, a bi-annual charity benefit for The Bahamas AIDS Foundation held their latest event on September 20th in the ballroom of the British Colonial Hilton. Corporate Bahamas showed an overwhelming support of the charity
event as all proceeds benefit the Bahamas AIDS Foundation’s work with
adolescents infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Fourteen local fashion designers created red gowns exclusively for the event and they were modeled by fourteen outstanding Bahamian ‘Leading Ladies’ in a fabulous runway show. This year's honourees were: Nicolette Bethel, Inga Bowleg, Karen Carey, Eldise Clarke, Candia Dames, Patrice Ellis, Joan Lady Foulkes, Dr. Tracy Roberts, Amanda Lindroth, Lisa McCartney, Alexandra Maillis-Lynch, and Marisa Mason-Smith.
AIDS has been the leading cause of death in the 15-49 year age group in The Bahamas since 1994. The Bahamas AIDS Foundation has recently started to work with adolescents infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.
Five days a week after school these adolescents are provided with educational tutoring, psychosocial intervention, peer support, job training and placement, a snack and a hot meal, referral services and individual and group counseling, all of which are directed to enable the adolescents to lead long, productive, healthy lives.

Adventures.
