The Free National Movement (FNM) issued the following statement regarding Prime Minister Minnis’ speech on the 2022 re-election effort:

“The FNM’s victory train has left the station and is moving full steam ahead in preparation for a 2022 re-election victory. Our Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, set a vision for better education with success, significantly improved infrastructure, provided tax relief and oversaw positive economic growth for the first time in years. Unlike previous administrations, the Bahamian people are now benefitting from their Government and they are no longer subjected to the woeful PLP’s neglect, mismanagement and corruption.

“Gone are the days when Government looked for every opportunity to turn Government projects into personal slush funds. Gone are the days when political leaders could openly mislead the public with no consequences. And no longer do Bahamians have to wonder if their Government is working in the best interest of the country.

“The Government’s focus on improving standards of living for the less fortunate stems from the Prime Minister’s experience growing up from humble beginnings. Through experience, Prime Minister Minnis understands the plight of those struggling to put food on the table. He refuses to let their needs go unaddressed.

“Through tax reform, upcoming marijuana decriminalization and negotiating Bahamian ownership of new projects, our FNM Government is fighting to improve the lives of all Bahamians, not giving privilege to the wealthy or politically connected.

“While the old and tired Brave Davis is busy talking and crafting political games, our Prime Minister is taking action to improve lives and build a path of prosperity for generations to come. The FNM is confident in a 2022 re-election victory because it prioritizes the people and not the politicians, as all Bahamians deserve from their elected leaders.”
