The Free National Movement (FNM) issued the following statement regarding the PLP’s proposed vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Minnis:

“A partisan political manoeuvre, by a blatantly political Brave Davis and his PLP flock, bereft of ideas and solutions to many of the problems they created for our country in their disastrous reign in government. What will their latest ‘show’ vote accomplish toward addressing the challenges facing Bahamians? Nothing. Yet, like sheep, the woeful PLP follow along with their Brave, their ‘mastermind’, wasting the public’s time on their latest hysterics and non-sensical attacks.

“The fact is this FNM Government, led by our Prime Minister, Dr. Hubert Minnis, is working night and day to fix the monumental mess they inherited from Brave Davis and the Christie Administration. They spent years all but ignoring and neglecting the public they were elected to serve as they focused on enriching themselves at the people’s expense.

“Now as the country and our true leaders continue to deal with the aftermath of a cataclysmic natural disaster, the woeful PLP under Brave sees this as an opportune time to cast aside responsibility and leadership to drum up another round of baseless attacks against our Prime Minister. No political party has ever cheered for their own people’s misfortune like the disastrous PLP.

“Prime Minister Minnis came up from humble roots and understands Bahamians will struggle to attain a higher standard of living if the Government isn’t focused on the people it is elected to serve. We invite our friends on the other side of the aisle to put away the petty political antics and put their focus on helping the people because Bahamians deserve nothing less from their elected leaders.”
