"After in-depth soul searching and a thorough analysis of the current political environment and landscape in our Bahamas, I have today decided to join the Free National Movement. and to lend my expertise to the team dedicated to rescue our country from those who have led our country to the brink of disaster where crime is out of control, unemployment is at all time high and rising poverty level continues unabated. I am determined to become a part of the solution as opposed to being a spectator or a part of the problem." so said D. Halson Moultrie as he joined the Free National Movement today.

He continued "I am satisfied that of all the existing political parties, the FNM offers the Bahamian people the best opportunity to dramatically reduce the high unemployment, reduce deficit.spending, reduce the national debt and put our country back on the road to prosperity. I am convinced that Dr. Hubert Minnis and his leadership team will restore our Bahamas to the past position as the envy of the world. Dr. Minnis is a man that walks the walk that he talks. Unlike others he is not a pontificator full of hollow words, powder puffs and dye rather he is a doer and a man of action The FNM led by Dr. Minnis and his team is indeed the way to build a new and better Bahamas."

Mr. Moultrie a political activist and community builder is no stranger to the political arena as he contested the MICAL constituency as the PLP candidate. He  spent more than 20 years as a meteorologist and is specially trained in climatology. He is the senior partner in law firm of L.I.F. Chambers and an ordained minister at Bahamas Faith Ministries.

In expressing his delight in the decision taken by Mr. Moultrie to join the FNM the party Chairman Michael Pintard said, "Our party recognizes consistency, perseverance and patriotism. We continue to build an organization open to all Bahamians willing to make a contribution to the political process in strengthening our democracy and the advancement of our Bahamas."

The FNM has a proven track record of expanding democracy. We further believe that the safety and well being of our citizens is paramount.
