Bradley Roberts continues to do what comes natural to him-be nasty and misleading.  Unlike him who was accused of a most disgusting crime, and who therefore had real reasons for leaving frontline politics my resignation was not because I violated any ethical code, laws or persons.

The PLP’s vicious and dishonest campaign has been to make me (and by extension the FNM) the centre of the court filing (brought by private citizens) against one of their financiers. It is clear that this approach was taken so as  to deflect from their own unethical behaviour, to protect an important funding source and to distract the Opposition from its mission.

Therefore, my resignation was and is about ensuring that I reduce any such distraction.  Furthermore, it was and is about making sure the public knows that I did not do anything wrong in my professional or political capacity.

Thousands of Bahamians are seeing through the PLP’s smear and deflection campaign and are imploring the FNM to stay on message about its vision for the Bahamian people and its careful critique of the abysmal performance of the PLP led government.

Money Appearing To Control Government Consideration

While what I’m about to say may be too complex for Mr. Roberts to understand I will still share so that someone may explain it to him. I did nothing to be disgraced! Your Party and its operatives have unsuccessfully sought to malign, disparage and savage my reputation and at the same time sought to intimidate me and anyone who dare stand up against or even criticise the PLP or friends of the PLP.

The real disgrace here is the PLP’s refusal to remove the clear impression that the government (led by them) has been bought and that its agenda has been hijacked by big money.  No less than its “chief backer implied as much.”

The PLP seeks to criminalise its opponents

There is a scary pattern of behaviour being displayed by the governing Party.  Openly and in clandestine ways it seeks to criminalise, bully and defame those that criticise them. Ask the vendors on Paradise Island, former FNM chairman Cash, prominent pastors, noted investors, journalists and now it’s my turn.  The sad irony is that Mr. Roberts and some members of his team should be the last crew asserting wrongdoings by others given the multitude of questionable actions they have engaged in for years.

Critical Questions that Are Unanswered

What accounted for the Cabinet of the Bahamas remaining silent for a year on a damning Rubis report while lives hung in the balance?

What ultimately determined that no action should be taken against a Minister accused of bullying an island administrator to make an inappropriate decision?

Who is responsible to the 100 plus millions of dollars in bad loans at Bank of the Bahamas and which present PLP MPs and senior members have non performing loans at Bank of the Bahamas?

What accounted for the Acting Attorney General Fitzgerald issuing a Nolle on a gun matter while sitting for the shortest possible time in the chair?

What accounted for the release from custody of a PLP diplomat in Bimini after a verbal altercation with local police?

Why was no action taken despite numerous complaints about “hate rallies” organised downtown Bay Street?

Was Parliament misled by the country’s leadership relative to BAMSI and the contractors having met all the requirements to commence work?

What is the result of the investigation into the visa scandal in the Ministry with responsibility Immigration and Foreign Affairs?

Did the DPM play a role in the production of the false affidavit and doctored audio clips being circulated in the media making false claims against me and others?

While I would rather spend my time exclusively suggesting ways that we can improve our country I’m forced to refute the weeks of lies about me perpetuated by the PLP and its backers.  There is no conspiracy to topple this government!

However, most right thinking Bahamians agree that this government must go!
