Update # 3 (8:10pm) from Vote Bahamas

North ABACO, Bahamas - Polling stations have closed and Polling Division 5 with the advanced polls. Unofficial Results:

N. ABACO – Election Results Polling Div. # 3 : PLP – 82, FNM -32, BCP – 0

Today's by-election on Abaco island will fill the seat of former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham, a seat he held for 35 years.

Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Perry G Christie said a win in Abaco would be the "icing on the cake" after his party's lopsided victory in May elections. Christie's party controls 29 of 38 parliamentary seats.

Analysts expected a tight race between ruling party candidate Renardo Curry and the opposition's Greg Gomez.
