Nassau, The Bahamas - President of the Bahamas China Friendship Association (BCFA) Gershan A. Major is currently in the People's Republic of China leading a delegation to the2018 Global Friendship Forum in Hainan China, 22-28, 2018. Before they left, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China His Excellency Huang Qinguo hosted a dinner at his residence in the delegation's honour, having a informal conversation about their travel and his country. Mr. Major will be addressing the forum on the topic “Strengthen tourism cooperation to promote economic growth.”
Other topics to be discussed include "Build a bridge of culture to promote people-to-people connectivity" and "Enhance youth exchanges to lay a solid foundation of friendship". The delegation wiill also attend the Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival Opening Ceremony, the Chengmai Software Ecological Park, Boao Le Cheng International Medical Tourism Pioneer Zone and travel to Sanya Province to visit other commercial entities, such as the Lu Qiao Noni Juice Processing Plant.

The delegation will have separate meetings with the leadership of each province with the view of establishing linkages for increase opportunities for trade and commerce in the areas or innovation, namely Entrepreneurship & Technology, Wealth creation and Wealth Management, Renewal Energy (Solar Farms), amongst other key business development and educational & cultural exchange opportunities.
According to the Association, the BCFA aims to continue to strengthen its relationship with the People’s Republic of China and its deepening friendship and wishes to thank His Excellency Ambassador Huang and his team for their on-gong support and hosting the delegation to the dinner. The BCFA continues to enjoy a wonderful relationship with the Embassy and the kindness and support of His Excellency, the statement added.
