Nassau, Bahamas - The Bahamas 40th Anniversary of Independence was celebrated in grand style on the eve of July 10th at Clifford Park in the country's capital.
Their Excellencies, Governor-General Sir Arthur Foulkes and Lady Foulkes, along with Prime
Minister the Rt. Hon. Perry Christie and Mrs. Bernadette Christie were in
attendance at The Bahamas' 40th Independence Anniversary
Celebrations, on Tuesday, July 9th.
The event, attended by thousands featured an extensive Cultural Show with dancers and song from Priscilla Rollins; a combined Royal Bahamas Police Force / Royal Bahamas Defence Force Tattoo Show and March Pass; ceremonial cake cutting; Junkanoo rushout and fireworks. Musical performances by FourEver1, Mdez, Sosa Man, Angelique Sabrina, Julian Believe, Puzzle, Ronnie Butler, Veronica Bishop, Ira Storr and the Band.
