Minister of the Environment and Housing, Hon. Kenred Dorsett, will leave the country this Friday for Paris, France where he will be a part of the Bahamian delegation to the United Nations Framework on Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC), Conference of the Parties (COP) 21.

Ahead of the meeting the Second National Communication (SNC) of The Bahamas has been sent to the UN Secretariat.  The SNC is a document that each country produces which outlines its vulnerabilities, adaptation and mitigation efforts as regards climate change.  The document also details what is needed in order to further address climate change effects in The Bahamas.

This year's COP will see world leaders come together to chart the course for the global response to the continuing rise in temperatures and sea levels. It is hoped that these meetings will lead to  a legally binding, applicable to all agreement on climate change.
