Nassau, Bahamas - The following is a statement by the Hon. Fred Mitchell MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration:

It is with deep sadness that the Government of The Bahamas learned of the catastrophic damage caused by the recent passing of a massive tornado through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore causing injuries, the lost of lives and the destruction of property.

In have conveyed these sentiments to the Government of the United States via diplomatic note to the Secretary of State.

On behalf of the Government and People of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, I wish to convey deepest sympathies to the Government and People of the United States of America, and particularly, to the families of the dead and injured.
