The Cabinet Office announces for general information that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), located on Gladstone Road and NEMA’s Way, will be closed effective Wednesday 14 October 2020 for deep cleaning and sanitizing due to a staff member having tested positive for COVID-19.

NEMA headquarters will reopen on Monday 19 October 2020.

The public is advised that the following numbers are available for emergency purposes:  809-2919 or 376-2042.  Messages can also be sent via inbox to: NEMA-Bahamas Facebook page and email address: nema@bahamas.gov.bs

As we are still in the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season, NEMA and its Emergency Support Function groupings remain on full alert to respond to any storm or disaster.

NEMA apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
