Commonwealth Bank donates to Education

Nassau, Bahamas -
Commonwealth Bank on Monday, Oct. 8  announced the donation of back to school supplies to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

"We are pleased to present 10 laptops 10 LCD projectors and 10 Promethean Activ Boards which bring the total donation of electronic equipment to date to 175 laptops 175 LCD projectors and 30 Promethean Activ Boards," said  Commonwealth Bank president Mr. Ian Jennings.

"Over the past five years our financial support of educating our students has exceeded $1.5 million in scholarships, school supplies and the latest in technological teaching tools.” 

He said In keeping with the Bank's commitment to develop the communities "in which we live, work and conduct business, Commonwealth Bank is taking its corporate responsibility seriously by recognising a need and giving back to the community by providing Bahamian school children with ‘back2school’ supplies and our educators with electronic equipment."

Minister of Education Science and Technology the Hon. Jerome Fitzgerald thanked and commended the bank for its donation on behalf of the people of The Bahamas, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the government.
