Nassau, The Bahamas - The Department of Rehabilitative Welfare Services announced Saturday, September 14, 2019 that the displaced persons registration desk at Odyssey Aviation is now closed.

The registration desk was spearheaded by a collective group of private citizens, partners and NGOs in collaboration with the Department of Social Services. It was staffed by more than 50 trained volunteers working on shifts, registered approximately 6,854 people arriving to New Providence by air from Abaco and Grand Bahama between September 5 -13, 2019.

This process was used to track the movement of displaced people from the affected areas and helps to provide accurate numbers on hurricane survivors.

Displaced persons who have not registered are advised to register at the Department of Rehabilitative Welfare Services on University Boulevard. The Department is open from 9AM-5PM, Monday to Saturday. Please call 524-0834/35 or 323-1877 for more information.
