Prior to the Cabinet Meeting in Freeport on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 Minister of Labour, Senator the Hon. Dion Foulkes said with the upcoming Grand Port, Grand Bahama may have full employment.  “This is very good news for Grand Bahama,” he remarked, when referring to the 1,000 construction jobs expected to be needed for the construction of the mega Grand Port by Carnival Cruise Line.  “We may reach the point where we have full employment here in Grand Bahama soon. With the potential sale of Our Lucaya, with the further development of Ginn and with this project with Carnival, this is excellent news for Grand Bahama.”  The labour agreement for Carnival Cruise Port is expected to have a ratio of 80 percent Bahamian to 20 percent foreign workers.  Members of Cabinet were in Grand Bahama for the information meeting by Carnival, explaining plans for the mega cruise port in East Grand Bahama.
