NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Home-Going
Service for the late Latore Mackey was held on Saturday at Voice of Deliverance
Disciple Center Temple, officiated by Apostle Leon Wallace. Mr. Mackey, 37, former Deputy Director of
Bahamas Information Services assigned to the Office of the Prime Minister, was
killed tragically on August 25.
Home-Going Service
condolences were given by Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie, who spoke
of Mr. Mackey’s dedication to his country, and by Director General of Bahamas
Information Services Mr. Luther E. Smith, who gave insight into Mr. Mackey’s diligence
and professionalism in completion of his duties. A number of members of parliament and
government officials attended the service to pay their respects.
Speakers praised Latore as a promising
young man who worked relentlessly towards the mission of creating a better
Bahamas, and one who took up the charge to help see it through. He was remembered by his friends as a brave
and generous soul.
Mr. Mackey was laid to rest
at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
