Nassau, The Bahamas - The Department of Sports in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture held a press conference Wednesday, May 16, to make the public aware of the upcoming 34th Annual Frank "Pancho" Rahming Primary School Track and Field Championships to be held May 23-26, 2018.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Michael Pintard said the Ministry will fulfill its mandate of supplying ground transportation, accommodations and breakfast and lunch for the participants. He said that he is still hopeful that corporate Bahamas will assist in that regard.

The event's director, Mike Sands said 1,200 plus athletes from Bimini to Inagua will participate in the championships. Sports officer, Oria Woods noted all participants in a finals event will receive either a medal or a ribbon.

The event is named for Mr. Rahming in honour of his achievements in track and field.  Pictured from left: Director of Sports Timothy Munnings, Minister Pintard and Mr. Sands.
