Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Awards Elma Garraway for Lifetime Achievement

Nassau, The Bahamas - The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture honoured Mrs. Elma Garraway with a Lifetime Achievement Award, on October 10, 2018, during the National Youth Awards 5th Annual Nominee Medal Pinning Ceremony, at Government House Ballroom.  During the ceremonies, Governor General, Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Marguerite Pindling also pinned more than 130 youth nominees from various islands, and stakeholder representatives.  Minister of Social Services and Urban Development the Hon. Frankie Campbell addressed the audience on behalf of Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle.  Among those joining the recipients and their families at the event were: Acting Permanent Secretary Rhoda Jackson; Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary and Director of Youth, K. Darron Turnquest; Director of Sports Timothy Munnings; Youth Officer and Awards Programme Co-ordinator John Darville; and Co-Chairpersons of the National Youth Advisory Council Sandena Neely and Mario Smith.  Lifetime Achievement Award Honouree, Mrs. Garraway is pictured, right, receiving a bouquet from the Governor General, as Minister Campbell looks on.  (BIS Photos / Eric Rose)
