The Hon. Iram Lewis, MP, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture extends congratulations to Mr. Chavano “Buddy” Hield for his outstanding record breaking accomplishment in making National Basketball Association (NBA) history as the fastest player to reach 1,000 three-pointers.

Buddy, who plays the forward position for the Sacramento Kings achieved the historic feat in just his 350th National Basketball Association (NBA) game played against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday 28th February, 2021, surpassing Golden State Warrior guard Stephen Curry who accomplished the same feat in 369 games.

Buddy continues to excel in the game with a bright future ahead for him.

The Government and the people of The Bahamas applaud Mr. Chavano “Buddy” Hield for his outstanding performance and dedication to representing The Bahamas in a superlative manner on the international circuit. We are truly proud.

Once again, on behalf of the Government of The Bahamas, it is my esteemed pleasure as the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture to convey congratulations on his stellar performance. We wish him continued success on the road ahead.
