The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture is indeed proud to announce the The National Sports Awards Ceremony.  The ceremony will celebrate achievement in sports for the year 2017 and will be held at Government House on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., hosted by Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, GCMG.

It would seem as if 2017 was the year that the world came to The Bahamas in droves to compete for gold.  The year 2017 yielded the National High School Track Championship, Carifta  Judo, Carifta Water Polo, and Carifta Swimming Championships, IAAF World Relays, FIFA World Cup Beach Soccer, and the Commonwealth Youth Games. Apart from these events we have had athletes compete in many other competitions qualifying and medalling thus making us so proud as a people.

It is with these accomplishments in mind that we take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of the greatest achievers for 2017.

We invite the various federations’ executive teams, associations, sponsors coaches, athletes and sports enthusiasts to join us as we honour our finest 2017 Sports Achievers.
