National Sports Hall of Fame 2019 Class - Induction Ceremony at Government House

Nassau, The Bahamas  - Governor General His Excellency the Most Hon. Cornelius A. Smith (seated centre) joined Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle, on December 3, 2019, in recognizing the members of the National Sports of Fame 2019 Class, during the Induction Ceremony held at Government House.  Among those present for the ceremony were Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Hon. D. Halson Moultrie and Mrs. Moultrie; the Hon. Mr. Justice Bernard Turner, Justice of The Supreme Court of The Bahamas; the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, David Cates; Under Secretary Montez Williams; Director of Sports Timothy Munnings and other Ministry staff; Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Freddie Tucker; former Permanent Secretary and Associate Pastor of Faith United Missionary Baptist Church Rev. Harrison Thompson; Secretary General of the Bahamas Olympic Committee Derron Donaldson and Vice-President Cora Hepburn; Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) President Drumeco Archer, and other sports stakeholders; family members and friends.

The 2019 Class includes Raymond Tucker, Ray Whylly and Paul Wong for Bodybuilding; Jacklyn "Jackie" Conyers for Volleyball; Ronald Cartwright for Coaching (Track and Field); Basil "The Kid" Sands, Stancel "Stoney" Ferguson and Dr. Linda Davis for Basketball; Ali Culmer for Softball; M. Ambrose Gouthro and Prince "Zorro" Stubbs (deceased) for Golf; and Walter Callendar (deceased) for Track and Field.
