FREEPORT, Grand Bahama - Minister of State for Grand Bahama in the Office of the Prime Minister, Senator the Hon. J. Kwasi Thompson on Thursday, February 15, welcomed two representatives from the Organization of American States Small Business Development Centre. He noted that the government has been working with the OAS to develop a Small Business Development Centre in the country, and to create one in Grand Bahama.

While in Grand Bahama, Renee Penco, Programme Coordinator of the Small Business Development Centre, and Cliff Parades, Director of the Small Business Development Centre Network, also met with representatives from the Grand Bahama Port Authority, the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, and the University of The Bahamas.

It was a pleasure, said the Minister, to have the representatives in Grand Bahama to discuss the existing small business programmes and see how they can be improved to fit into the Small Business Development Centre.

He said he was happy to be able to express to the OAS that the government has recently agreed policy to enable to Small Business Development Centres to assist entrepreneurs in The Bahamas.
