The public is advised that in an effort to facilitate more effective social distancing measures as part of COVID-19 prevention requirements, the Princess Margaret Hospital has implemented enhanced protocols for mortuary services at the Morgue (Rand Lab).

The new protocols allow for one (1) family member to enter the morgue to register at the reception/front desk.  As part of the registration process, the registrant will be required to provide a cell phone contact.  The registrant will be required to leave the Morgue Reception area until they are contacted. Once contact is made, two (2) family members will be permitted to enter the Morgue to officially identify the body of their deceased loved one/family member.

These new protocols are due to in part to the limited space in the morgue, along with adherence to social distancing guidelines to limit the spread of the Corona virus.
The public is reminded that the morgue’s hours of operation for identification of remains is Monday to Friday, 9am to 12noon.  Relatives may contact the PMH Morgue at telephone number 824-3562. Persons identifying relatives are required to present two (2) forms of valid national identification, which includes a National Insurance Board (NIB) card, a Passport, Voter’s card, or Driver license.

The public is further advised to follow all announcements and public advisories from the Ministry of Health and the Public Hospitals Authority regarding Health and Hospital Services.
