NASSAU, The Bahamas – Led by banners and clad in bright colorful costumes depicting this year’s theme ‘A Walk Through the Bible’ hundreds of toddlers paraded through the streets of New Providence Thursday, April 11th in celebration of Pre-School Week.

‘Joseph’s Coat of Many Colours,’ ‘The 10 Commandments,’ ‘The Story of Samuel,’ ‘The Prodigal Son,’ ‘Baby Moses,’ ‘Sampson and Delilah,’ ‘Walls of Jericho,’ ‘Daniel in the Lion’s Den,’ ‘David the Shepherd Boy,’ ‘Jonah and the Whale,’  and ‘Jesus Feeds 5,000’ were some of the biblical themes featured on the banners.

The boys and girls braved the scorching heat as they paraded, sometimes holding the hands of their classmate, teacher or parent. They also laughed, danced, sang, chanted and waved to people who lined the streets along the route starting at Willard Patton Pre-school on Augusta Street culminating at Heritage Park on Arawak Cay.

The Costume Parade and Road March is one of the events planned by the Department of Education to commemorate the 15th Annual Pre-School Week held from April 7th to 12th.
