Public notice – Bahamians with tourist status in Cuba

ON MARCH 20, 2020, THE PRESIDENT OF CUBA MIGUEL DIAZ-CANEL ANNOUNCED THE FOLLOWIING MEASURES EFFECTIVE TUESDAY MARCH 24, 2020:

    -NO TOURIST ARRIVALS WOULD BE PERMITTED

    -TOURISTS CURRENTLY ON THE ISLAND WOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO LEAVE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 24, 2020

    -ONLY PERSONS WITH RESIDENCE STATUS WOULD BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE COUNTRY

    -CUBAN NATIONALS WOULD NOT BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE COUNTRY

    -THERE MAY BE PENALITIES FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT COMPLY WITH THESE MEASURES

BAHAMASAIR HAS ANNOUNCED THAT FLIGHTS TO CUBA WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE ENCOURAGE ALL BAHAMIANS WITH BAHAMIAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS IN CUBA TO CONTACT THEM AND ADVISE THEM OF THE SITUATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE BAHAMAS EMBASSY IN CUBA; AS THERE MAY BE NEW DAILY INFORMATION AVAILABLE FOR THEM.
