Defence Headquarters,  (RBDF):  A boat captain is being questioned by Police officials after his vessel was brought into the capital late Sunday evening by members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force after he allegedly made threats to his crew.

The RBDF Operations Centre received a call shortly before noon from a crewmember aboard a ninety-five-foot white Pleasure Craft, located west of Highbourne Cay, that the captain was behaving in an erratic manner towards the crew and passengers, RBDF assets were dispatched to investigate.

On arrival to the named location, the RBDF boarding team immediately conducted investigations onboard the American registered vessel and discovered a 9-mm pistol along with a magazine and 10 live rounds. The weapon was not registered or declared to Bahamas Customs. The vessel and its crew were eventually escorted into the capital, and the captain and crew were handed over to the relevant authorities for further questioning.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is committed to guarding and protecting the territorial waters of The Bahamas.
