Sports Minister opens World Junior Judo Championships

Nassau, The Bahamas - Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture (MOYSC) the Hon. Lanisha Rolle addressed the Official Opening Ceremony of the World Junior Judo Championships, October 18, 2018, in the Imperial Ballroom of Atlantis, Paradise Island.  During the ceremonies, President of the International Judo Federation (IJF) Marius Vizer presented a Special Recognition award to her (pictured).  Among those present for the Opening were MOYSC Acting Permanent Secretary Rhoda Jackson, Director of Sports Timothy Munnings, Director of Sports Tourism Marketing in the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation Virginia Kelly, and Bahamas Judo Federation President D’Arcy Rahming.  More than 400 competitors from 67 countries participate in the championships, slated to run until October 20.  (BIS Photos / Eric Rose)
