Nassau, Bahamas - The Government of The Bahamas is saddened at the passing of its former Financial Secretary and Consultant to  the Ministry Ehurd Cunningham.  We are all stunned by  his untimely passing.  He was a dedicated public officer, a  an individual who was devoted to the forward progress of our nation.  He was a tireless worker in the vineyard of our  national sovereignty, exercising his talents in the financial field.  He was able to bring his considerable skills and  strengths from the private sector over to the public sector.  He was a strong proponent of public sector reform.

This is a deeply personal loss to me since I have known him for a very long time and had the privilege of working with him.  On behalf of the government, my wife Bernadette, the Ministry of Finance, the Minister of State Michael Halkitis, I wish to extend to his family our  sincerest condolences  and support in this their time of bereavement.  May he rest in peace.
