The Ministry for Grand Bahama also assisted with their travel. Said the Minister, "I am pleased, therefore, that these young men did a stellar job and won the title of Small School Boys Champions, ahead of 400 plus other schools in the USA, which is the single greatest accomplishment for any school in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas."

On behalf of the government, the Minister congratulated the team for their accomplishment at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia and encouraged them to continue to strive for excellence. Minister Darville quoted Oprah Winfrey, "Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it."

Mr. Bain said it was a pleasure being there to express their gratitude to the Ministry for their assistance. He said having checked, he could not find any record of another team being as successful as this one and assured the Minister that their contribution did not go unnoticed, and the team will do greater things next year.
