WEST END, Grand Bahama – The community of West End will come alive with excitement on Saturday, April 11, as Junior Sailors from throughout Grand Bahama raise their sails for the start of the 4th Annual West End Junior Sailing Regatta. The tourney will take place at 11:00 am with activities, exciting live performances from various artists like Lil Joe, the Legends Marching Band, and a live Junkanoo performance by the Bayshore Warriors.

Elaine Smith of the Ministry of Tourism said “as we prepare for the first Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival, which will launch on Grand Bahama Island, Junior Sailing Regatta goers will enjoy a dose of Carnival fever with an appearance by the Carnival models and a surprise song performance by one of Grand Bahama’s Carnival Semi-finalists.”

There will be an array of delicious Bahamian dishes including West End’s finest Conch Salad, Conch Fritters, Pastries and signature beverages.

The entire island is invited to join with the West End community and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon continuing until 8:00 pm in the vicinity of Bayshore Road nearby the Foley Estate.

The Ministry of Tourism is pleased to partner in this initiative and acknowledges the potential for significant economic impacts to the local community and island as a whole. Soon after a fun-filled Easter Holiday, the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the West End Eco-Fishing Camp Association and the Grand Bahama Sailing Club will be serving up yet another exciting family event.
