OAS Secretary General Participates in Meeting of "Haiti Partners" in New York

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, participated this morning in the meeting of the “Haiti Partners," held in New York in the framework of the 69th Assembly General of the United Nations, taking place this week.

The event, organized by the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly, focused on the current political, economic and social issues in the Caribbean country.

In addition to President Martelly and Secretary General Insulza, the meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of Haiti, Laurent Lamothe; the Special Representative of the Secretary of State of the United States, Tom Shannon; the Assistant Secretary General of CARICOM, Colin Granderson; the Under-Secretary for South and Central America and the Caribbean of Brazil, Antonio Simoes; and the OAS Assistant Secretary General, Albert Ramdin, among others.
