Red Bay Primary School welcomes Sagicor Adopt-A-School Programme

Norman Wilson (l), Branch Manager Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands presents the symbolic cheque for USD$15,000.00 to Vickie Frederick (2nd l.), Principal of the Red bay Primary School. The school is the second recipient of the Branch's Adopt A School Initiative. Joining in the presentation are Merrick Plummer, Assistant Vice President Individual Insurance Sales and Distribution at Sagicor Life and Mary Rodrigues, Chief Officer in the Department of Education and students of the Red Bay Primary School.

George Town, Grand Cayman - Sagicor Life of the Cayman Islands has donated US$15,000 to assist Red Bay Primary School with their sports and education programmes as a part of the company's Adopt-A-School Programme.
 
Merrick Plummer, Assistant Vice President Individual Insurance Sales and Distribution, Sagicor, stated "Two years ago we launched our Adopt-A-School programme with George Town Primary. We are pleased to be making another significant contribution to an institution which upholds the standard needed to instill the solid education and lifestyle practices needed to hone our young people into productive and principled adults."

Chief Officer, in the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Mary Rodrigues commented that "The Ministry and Department of Education has been a part of this initiative since its inception in 2011 and are happy to continue our partnership with Sagicor to assist the youth of our country."

The programme, whilst providing monetary support, will also see employees of Sagicor Life spending time with the students and engaging in activities within the school.

Vickie Frederick, Principal of Red Bay Primary said "Our school is indeed grateful to Sagicor for this demonstration of kindness. We would also like to thank the company for recognizing the importance of education and sports and how it affects the community."
