Another anniversary has just landed at our door steps with COVID-19 well in check, to keep our population in a safe environment, while taking a toll on our economy with our Government doing all they can to keep our head above the rising tide of economic turbulence.

As we look back from this day the 6th June, 2016 to present, our Government under the Leadership of the Hon. Allen Michael Chastanet has achieved very early coming into office the “ Five to stay alive “ campaign promise and within the four years has focused on fulfilling the contents enshrined in the  2016 MANIFESTO, thus giving a clear vision that the Government it on its way to “ BUILDING A NEW ST. LUCIA.” A blueprint which is etched negatively in the minds of the opposition because success, will certainly result in their being in the political wilderness for years to come.

I therefore implore my companions, members and supporters of this great United Workers Party that although some of you may feel uncounted for whatever reason, it would be most prudent to lend your support at all times as the records show that 758 has and will only be developed by a UWP Government, despite the rumbling of the opposition and its satellites. The task at hand is to take St. Lucia to the next level. Make this 238 square miles, the envy of the world, a wonderful, well developed, peaceful place to  reside with our people especially the youth, great sportsmen and women, educated and employed. A country where our Health Care will be “Numero uno.”

When in disagreement with our leaders, please stand indoors and be counted, criticise meaningfully with great respect and at the same time have the solution at hand when necessary, which will result in making our party stronger.  I appeal to you let us all march forward in unison to a great victory in order to “ CONTINUE BUILDING A NEW ST.LUCIA.” which we  all so care for.

OSWALD AUGUSTIN  - UWP  PARTY CHAIRMAN
