Grand Bahama Island - Noted actor, Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission Impossible I and II) was here on Grand Bahama Island taking in some time away from a busy film schedule to do a bit of fishing. Rhames is the celebrity guest of FishTV.tv a Canadian based fishing show, that not only focuses on the thrill of fishing, but also enjoys and showcases whatever the destination they may be traveling to.

Mr. Rhames commented on how much he has been enjoying the Bahamian food while here and got a great taste of it at a reception held in his honour at Joe's Bar and Grill at Taino Beach on November 19th. The Grand Bahama Ministry of Tourism sponsored this event, and Rhames and his wife Deborah enjoyed Bahamian music by Just Friends while they and the Fish TV team sipped on Bahama Mamas or Gullywash served in coconuts. They devoured the conch fritters, which were a huge hit with all of them, in particular Ving Rhames. They also tasted succulent Bahamian lobster cooked on skewers in between roasted vegetables.

They were all so impressed with the Bahamian hospitality at the event they returned to Joe's Bar & Grill the following evening after a busy day of filming and touring the Island.

The Rhames and Fish TV crew enjoyed sightseeing, boating, fishing, fish fry at Smith's Point, Port Lucaya Marketplace, Pelican Bay Hotel, Junkanoo, swimming with dolphins at UNEXSO, Kayak Nature Tours, scuba diving, and more...much of which they captured on video and will bring back to air on Fish TV and other sport and fishing channels seen throughout the world.

The Bahamas Weekly News team was on hand at the reception on November 19th to interview not only Mr. Rhames, but also the Fish TV hosts, Leo Stakos and Ron James. Watch the production by MackeyMedia HERE.
