Jeffrey Poitier arrives on Grand Bahama to screen his film about Bahamians who settled Coconut Grove, Florida

Grand Bahama Island - Jeffrey Poitier, nephew of famous Bahamian actor, Sir Sidney Poitier arrived in Grand Bahama today, April 24th to screen his documentary film, VOICES for the first time in The Bahamas. The screening will take place on Saturday, April 25th at Ross University Study Hall from 7pm.

All are invited to attend this event and meet the film maker. Persons from West Grand Bahama and Bahamians living in Florida are featured in this documentary film which tells the untold stories of Bahamian and African-Americans who originally settled and built Coconut Grove.

Tickets are available around town at Italian Specialty, Island Java, Elite Loft and Coldwell Banker James Sarles Realty.  Adults $20 and children $10. A Question and Answer session with the film maker will follow the 90 minute screening followed by a short 'Meet the Film Maker' reception with appetizers and drinks.

Please come out and support the Grand Bahama Heritage Foundation and the Poitier film!
