Freeport, Bahamas - The Miss Grand Bahama pageant is set for Sunday, October 30th and will be held at the Pelican Bay Hotel at 9pm. This year's Miss Grand Bahama delegates will be representing flowers.

"Over the summer, flowers are blooming like the Yellow Elder, Poinciana, Oleander, Hibiscus and Bougainvillea. Now that Hurricane Matthew came and destroyed all of our beautiful flowers, our organization is pleased to present to the Grand Bahama community five beautiful flowers set to bloom on October 30th," said pageant president Glenn Davis.

The following five lovely ladies will compete for the prestigious  crown and title of Miss Grand Bahama 2016: Gabrielle  Gardener, Yellow  Elder; Moniqua  Bain, Poinciana; Lashelle Lee  Forbes, Oleander; Tiasha  Lewis, Hibiscus; Lezlia  Jones, Bougainvillea.

The current Miss Grand Bahamas is Danielle Pratt, and during her year of reign she was a contestant in Miss Universe Bahamas; and represented her country in the Miss Coffee International pageant in Colombia; and the Miss Tourism Queen International in China.

Sponsors for this year's event: Escanti Shoe Store; Sky Bahamas; Patrice; The Bahamas Weekly; YMCA; The Art Of Giving; Kelly's; Colombian Emeralds; Empress; Ministry  of  Tourism; and Western  Air.
