Freeport, Bahamas - Grand Bahama’s inaugural TEDx event will take place on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 10am-1pm at the Coral Reef room of Pelican Bay Hotel's Canal House conference facility.

Just ahead of The Bahamas’ 41st independence festivities, which will celebrate how far we have come as a nation, TEDxGrandBahama will provide a platform for four young professionals (two of which are columnists on TheBahamasWeekly.com)  to share their ideas from multidisciplinary perspectives on the theme, “Bahamian Development: How Can we Further it”.

TEDxGrandBahama will also include video TED Talks and a panel discussion, which together will combine to spark deep discussion and put forth ideas that, if implemented, can positively influence The Bahamas’ progress.

Speakers for TEDxGrandBahama 2014 include:

  • Katarvia Taylor—International development professional
  • Crystal DeGregory, Ph.D. (moderator)-- Historian and educational consultant

Registration is free and will open online on Thursday, June 19 at 10:00am on a first come, first served basis. Visit the official website or Facebook page at that time for the registration link. Please note that seating is limited due to TED's strict capacity requirements.
