Toronto, Ont. –  John Lawrence, STEP Worldwide Director, Founding Member of the STEP LATAM Conference and Past Deputy Chair of STEP Worldwide announced today that The Bahamas Ministry of Financial Services has come on board as The Presenting Sponsor for The STEP LATAM 2016 Conference. John will also be a speaker at the 2016 STEP LATAM Conference in Panama City.

“As always, The Bahamas Ministry of Financial Services is a major supporter of the STEP LATAM Conference, once again establishing The Bahamas as a premier IFC and a jurisdiction that is open for business in Latin America. With over 13 Latin American jurisdictions participating on the advisory committee for the conference, The Bahamas is well positioned to provide a myriad of wealth structuring and professional services to practitioners in the LATAM region”, commented Mr. Lawrence.

The conference, set to run September 28 – 30th at The Panama Hilton Hotel, follows on the heels of a sold out 2015 conference in Sao Paulo. Over 400 delegates from the LATAM region along with delegates from Canada, The US, Europe and Asia joined a strong delegation from The Bahamas as Minister Hope Strachan welcomed the delegates as The 2015 Presenting Sponsor.

Former Minister of Financial Services, Ryan Pinder is set to speak this year as part of a round table on “The Focus Forum On CRS”, a major topic of concern for this year’s delegates.

Other timely topics include:

· Wealth Trends in Latin America

· Terrorism in The XXI Century

· The “Intentional Gringo”

· Structuring Through LATAM Jurisdictions

· Anatomy of A Data Breach Crisis

A “must attend” conference for trust and estates and wealth structuring professionals, STEP LATAM 2016 in Panama City has been aptly themed …

“Where Common Law and Civil Law Converge: The Cross Roads of The Future!”
