The Second Annual One Young World Summit will be held in Zurich, Switzerland on 1st - 4th September 2011. Already signed up are a number of distinguished Counsellors including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bob Geldof and Muhammad Yunus who were all instrumental in the inaugural event. These world figures will be working to promote the event and other high profile counsellors Mo Ibrahim and Fatima Bhutto will join them in 2011 with more being announced over the coming months.

Representing The Bahamas will be 18 year old Ashleigh Rolle. "I was selected as a delegate for The Bahamas and I am so passionate about the environment and humanity and the roles we play in those two areas, but more importantly I am passionate about my country and raising awareness about these global issues within my country," said Rolle.

Ashleigh Rolle will be traveling to Switzerland to attend the One Young World Summit from September 1st through 4th.

The first One Young World Inaugural Summit was held in London on February 8 to 10, 2010 and drew 823 young leaders from 112 countries. The summit focused on 6 key Resolutions developed in response to the most pressing issues in the world today, as identified as by the One Young World Global Consultation Process, a poll of over 15,000 respondents aged 18-27 years old from 34 countries in every continent on the planet.

Rolle continues, "Me being apart of One Young World is just an example of technology and the way young people should embrace it. In 2009 David Jones and Kate Robertson literally scoured the globe for young people with initiative and a passion for humanity. They used every social network imaginable and spoke to us not at us."

"I love to write and perform  I also love to raise awareness through my writing.
I try to learn a little more about the environment everyday and teach everything that I learn, I am currently a summer intern at Cool 96 radio where I am learning so many new things about the media. Right now I am preparing for University even though I haven't committed to one school as yet."

"One Young World's social network, http://itsonehumanity. org/ is for humanitarians and was created by two One Young World Ambassadors. I was assigned as one of the coordinators for the website I have met so many new people through this site and my goal is to bring more Bahamians to it."

"I would like to thank Bahamas Hot Mix who graciously sponsored the rest of my trip and I leave on the 30th of August !"

"For the first time the voices of young people will be heard not as a sign of revolt or rebellion on some random street corner, but our voices will be resonating on a stage with world leaders looking at us as their equals and not toddlers playing dress up and adventure time, this is what I want to share with my people, this is what I would like to bring forth."
